Previous editions of the rules had miminum qualifications for knighthood which were a mixture of skills, traits and passions (eg Horsemanship 10+, Valorous 15+, Loyalty Lord 15+ etc).
These mimima are 'baked in' to the current chargen if you are using the standard assignment option, but the random versions don't make any specific adjustments (such as applying a positive modifier for Valorous say) and the section outlining the qualifications for knighthood on p68 of BoK&L do not mention any hard rules-specific numbers that must be achieved.
Is the design intent for those games using random chargen that players can have relatively cowardly, disloyal or unskilled knights (where the father's class was Man at Arms for the -5 to Horsemanship) should they choose not to use their stock of bonus points to bolster these attributes?
