Hello to everyone,
I just started a new group of players to Pendragon, which is always a good news.
They asked me to move them northward, since they quite all love Scotland's landscape, so I decided to move their starting point at Eburacum.
So they are now three knights and two ladies, which puts me in some dire straits, but the first sessions went incredibly well, they all enjoyed and much more the DM.
Now I am trying to put together as much information I can, since that area is not so clearly defined in the core book, nor in the BoK&L.
In particular I am trying to figure out the geography of the area and numbers of knights clans that there may be.
Is there any one of you which has informations, materials, maps which he is willing to share?
I will be forever thankful to anyone which lends a hand.
Bye

I missed that!
Let me just say that "embarrassed" is too little word to describe me now.

Hello there!
I got a question, perhaps it puts into evidence a mistake or a loop.
In the Lands and Leaders of Pendragon, is stated that Northumberland is a name not used in GPC, since it is the late denomination of the kingdom of Malahaut.
In the description of the East Riding of Malahaut, in contrast with that statement, it is said that the ruler of the riding is the Earl of Northumberland.
So is there a Earl of Northumberland at the beginning of Uther Reign or not?
Thank you for the help.

First, I do not claim to be infallible in these entries!
The Wiki will help in fixing these inconsistentcies
As for an answer, perhaps there is an earl but he does not last long?
Need a high-ranking NPC to kill? :D

I was the first in missing that there was a whole page for Malahaut! ::)
In any case, I believe that Killing an Earl would be a major event in every campaign... in particular if that is done by Playing Characters...
So if I read you well enough, you are saying do as you prefer ?

All this information is meant to help Gamemasters, not shackle them. Its your game. I think you should either ignore this inconsistency or create something cool from it.

I agree here. Many times the books do not align perfectly. The small differences can be used by a Gamemaster as a scenario or hook. Reading what others have done also helps create opportunities in your game. Remember, we are not little marionnets/puppets dancing to the tune of a hidden piper, but artists creating a whole canvas on which the players have fun. It is your game, have fun with it.

Year 482: Let William Shakespeare Write!
Yesterday evening I had the most exemplar experience of how, in this game system, you must let the players do their will to the uttermost end.
I've got a mixed group of knights and ladies, the year's court is troubled by the news of new arrivals on the coast of the kingdom of Malahaut of the "long vessels" of the Saxons.
The King muster the army to strike them and throw them off to the waves.
One of the knight, Sir Nevius falls in love for the sister of one of his fellow knights, which will ride with him in the same eschille the next day.
Sir Nevius, since his battle skill, is named commander of the eschille. He guides them wonderfully, they smash through the Saxons lines, and quite at the end of the day, they have a chance to strike deep against a company of archers who are running away.
They start charging, but Sir Nevius future brother-in-love seeks inspiration from his hate for the Saxon and fails. He falls into a strange and dark mood, which Sir Nevius tries to solve, but fails.
The reaction is a violent one and Sir Nevius is reduced to 7 Hp.
During the victorious return to Eburacum, Sir Nevius tries to find the reasons inside his love for the knight's sister, to be forgiving, but the smears on his honour and on the his sense of brotherhood and knighthood are too great, so he seeks vengeance.
The lovingly cures of the guilty's sister give him another chance to consider his will of vengeance, but the dice decrees that he must have his vengeance, whatever the costs.
So as soon as he was again on his feet, he asked for a Honour Duel at the first blood. The other accepted.
The fateful day they met in the King's Yard, under the eyes of all the royal court, and of the heart broken woman.
Her brother invoked in sense of Honour and fumbled! So he threw his weapon and shield on the ground, jumped on the first horse available and disappeared under the shocked eyes of all the people.
That's a real gaming story, not a tale from the Immortal Bard of England...
What do you say? ;D

Welcome to Pendragon! With good players, this kind of drama happens all the time. This is why I love this game. Just follow up on what happened that fateful year. Pendragon is all about the choices the players make.
