An interesting article has been posted on Irish medieval strategy and tactics. It's called Warfare in the Medieval Gaelic Lordships, and can be found at:

Katherine Simms originally published it in Irish Sword, volume 12 (1975).
It may be useful if you are thinking of running an Irish or perhaps Pict campaign. Notice the mention of so many lovely fields going unfarmed, a tempting target for a landless knight ("They're yours if you can hold them. Try not to end up like the last three parties that tried."). Alternatively, if you are playing an Irish Arthurian knight, you will notice a big difference between how your fellow knights expect you to fight and how your father and your father's father taught you to fight ...
