This may seem like a bit of a silly question, but here goes...

I have a vague memory of some years ago running across a thread on RPG.net in which the GM posted some line art (possibly of his own creation) of a knight in armor that he gave out to his players, allowing them to use MS Paint or the like to do color fills of their surcoats and helmets based on their coats of arms.

I quite like this idea. I'm a very visual person, and of course knights in full regalia were some of the most colorful warriors in history. It's nice to be able to imagine how the various PKs might look when out adventuring together. The best solution would be to build up a miniatures collection--and that's certainly a long-term goal--but in the meantime I like the quickness and easy customizability of the digital approach.

So...does anyone remember the thread I'm talking about? Or does anyone have something similar? Ideally, something like this page (http://preachan.tripod.com/knights1.html), with different "outlines" for each period of armor would be ideal.

For Knights & Ladies we used the Dover book of line art, which has nice clear pictures of the armor.
