Sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find an answer.

5.0 (pg 78) says that a critical success for Love (God) "gives a modifier or a check to all appropriate religious traits, not to any one skill". Can someone clarify this? It leaves me confused about how it's meant to be used (it sounds like it could never be applied to Sword, for example).

You're right but remember it only happens on a Critical. If you succeed normally you may add the modifier for being impassioned as usual. Granted if you have a knight with a Love (God) passion of 39, he's going to be walking around in a haze of divine bliss like a drooling fool most of the time but that's God for you :).

It's also a little fuzzy on duration to me. It sounds as if the ecstatic vision occurs immediately, but I assume this happens after the triggering event has ended?

Whatever best serves the GM's purpose.
