The old Ordnance Survey First Series maps are especially of interest to those of us not from the UK, as they show the local terrain quite clearly. Modern maps don't list the names of the landforms as a rule, so that is another point in favor of the older maps.

Agreed. I was blown away that they were available online at such high resolution. I've downloaded the lot of Wiltshire and plan on stitching them together.
