Are there rules for cooperative skill use? So three PKs are out hunting. Can one's success add a bonus to the designated lead hunter's success?

Same thing with Attribute tests. Wait—are there Attribute tests besides DEX? What about STR? Kicking in doors, lifting heavy things—are there rules for this? Can't find 'em, if so.

Thanks,

T.

Pendragon is an old school system, where you don't have set rules for everything. You choose which trait/skill to roll based on the circumstance. So, if the players want to kick down a door, and the GM thinks the door is kickdownable, it's the GM's job to decide in the moment what that will entail. He might ask the players to roll STR, with a penalty of -5 or -10; the first to succeed kicks the door down.
Or, he might say, the door is solid, and needs 3 successes to kick it down - and players can roll independently.

He might also it's not possible for anyone to kick it down - unles they bring a battering ram, or some axes, and then decide how long and what rolls are required.

Regarding cooperation: there is no specific rule for cooperation, but in most games, they dont work very well anyway. Usually one person is chosen as the lead, then you get 2 or 3 people making helping rolls to give a bonus than that one person makes his roll. And often the people who make helping rolls, roll so well they wish they'd been the lead.

However, you don't need special rules to get a strong bonus from cooperation: Simply say, "since you are cooperating, you can all roll, and the best roll is the one we will use)". In this case, the chance of success rises dramatically (since ALL have to fail for the task to fail), and the quality of success will on average be higher than that gained by a single person with a small bonus.
If needed, you can then add tweaks like, -2-5 to the final total for each failure (or maybe a fumble cancels out the best roll, so use the 2nd best).

In situations where you can only succeed by having a leader and several supporters who aid, the best bet is to make those supporters roll: and if they succeed, the leader is not modified. Each failure causes him a penalty, and each critical gives a bonus. It's hard to be a leader!
