Taliesin's Water Leaper questions prompted me to examine how I divide glory to my PKs. In particular, whether I am 'orthodox' in my methods, so I reread the rulebook (5th ed) on that section. Looks like I am, if not spot on, at least not in open heresy.
1) Individual duels: Simple, you just give each knight the Glory they have gotten by vanquishing their opponent.
2) More Confused Melee: I do try to keep the fights as closely aligned with the PKs as possible, so that everyone at least starts out with his own opponent(s). But towards the end of the skirmish, what usually happens is that some of the PKs finish off their opponents before the other PKs, and then rush to help. In these situations, I tend to award Glory equally between the assisting PK and the original PK (as per the rulebook). Naturally, some times the original PK shouts out that he doesn't need any assistance, in which case his pals will lean on their swords until they are needed (if at all). Wounded enemies that are finished off by another PK after the first PK fails (so two consecutive duels rather than ganging up at the same time), tends to award half and half, subject to a consideration of the enemy's hitpoints (HP 28 enemy with a 3 point wound from the first PK and then defeated by the second PK later on in another 'duel', would reward something like 10-20% and 80-90% of his Glory). This system seems to work reasonably well for us, and tends to rely on the gut-feeling of what seems fair. Archers firing into melee and forcing enemies to devote attention to them (divide their skill) would definitely count as an assist and cause the glory to be divided. Same with softening enemies with arrows beforehand, even if the arrows would not be doing much in the way of final damage.
3) Mission Glory: Usually shared equally, we tend to have no appointed leader as such. Again, subject to a fudge factor if one PK did clearly more than the others to secure the mission goal (although if there was fighting, he likely got that extra glory already, so this usually comes up when it is some kind of non-combat solution). (And often I forget to divide this and give everyone the full amount! Shame on me!) Oh, I also noticed that Greg has already been suggesting awarding some extra glory if one PK did something extra. I might be inclined to just give like 10 extra Glory for noteworthy deservedness and divide the original Glory pool equally.
4) Court Glory: This is actually a good place to introduce some scuffling amongst the PKs for primacy. The leader should be the one to report the mission, so he gets the option to roll his Orate, unless he defers to someone else. Same with Courtesy. I'd likely let the other PKs roll their Orate as well, but that would not be before the King/Earl, but in individual tables, so the Glory for a success would be less.
