Someone asked me this today: "do you know of any 5th edition KAP manor spreadsheets? Has anyone tried creating this for Book of the Manor?" Can anyone help this fellow Pendragon fan?

Is that available somewhere? I've got so many different Pendragon links I can never remember them all!

Is there a reader who will volunteer to help us to update the Links page?

It's in the process of being converted to a web-application similar as the jousting program.

I made one for myself a while back in excel. I'll see if I can dig it up. It is not entirely user friendly, but it seemed to work well for me. It might have a few 'house rules' built into it. I can't remember.

@Merlin. I put the spread sheet in the Pendragon Council drop box folder. I don't know how to post it here, but you are welcome to make it available as far as I am concerned. You might want to check with Greg first.

It isn't the most user friendly sheet as it was for my own use. However, it is filled in with lots of notes. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is there still an interest in a Book of the Manor Excel spreadsheet?

I was asked about this in my group and put together a prototype that helps with a number of the calculations. Needs to be prettified and spaces properly built in for descriptions of the manor and associated charter, but otherwise I think it would be functional once I add a few usage instructions.

I'm pretty close to finishing a new Book of Manor sheet as well. My previous one was NOT user friendly. The newer one should be. I've got several versions for different size holdings.

When they are done, it might be good to post the bunch as they will probably differ in style and different sheets may appeal to different people.

Thanks for the replies folks - I don't know if the first person who asked me is still looking for one, but I'm sure others will be if you're willing to share!

I'll do some work on cleaning mine up and then post it.

At the very least having a variety available might indicate neat ideas that can be "borrowed". :o

I have a somewhat better formatted version available. And also an example sheet filled in for a banneretcy (of one of my PKs).

It's not pretty. It still takes manual set-up since I reached the conclusion that a lot of a manor's features become fixed and doesn't require masses of reference lookups. But I think it handles Winter Phase work fairly well, and I also put in a bunch of comments that hopefully can make it easy to understand what it's trying to do. And I'm not happy with how to handle long descriptions or notes in it, but that would require a lot of field jockeying that I don't have time for now.

Any particular place to post it? And will the other versions be there for comparison?

I'm hoping for feedback, or at least ideas on how to improve it.

I sent two versions to Greg--one short one long. I think he's going to post them on his website at some point.

The short one includes most things on one page, but only allows you to develop one manor. The longer one has pages for up to five manors and includes a bunch of other stuff.

Both include drop down menus, total all your income, maintenance, dv etc. There is a land record sheet similar to the one from the book.

All rolling is external. I like real dice.

I'm also putting together a sheet for making Castles. It works nicely, including changing the drop down menus based on the year and availability of structures. I'm sort of prettying it up at the moment. Bug Greg or Merlin about getting them posted.

Once up...comments appreciated too.

Hmm, the current campaign is doing "consolidated" manors to reduce time and paperwork, so mine is currently reflecting that style.

Which does give me an idea or two to work in. If that works I think this might go to three sheets:
1) Fancy long stuff - Charter, description, and all the long text. This is the one to prettify with boundaries and fake seals
2) Manor Features - roughly the Land Record sheet, but things broken up a bit, and with some additional entry area. Will do some totals and summaries and also push information off to the third sheet.
3) Harvest Worksheet - the Manor Harvest stuff. Top few lines is for the calculations (you roll and then enter results). And then lines for history like on the paper worksheet; but located below a freeze pane so that you can scroll it up/down to get to the current year line to fill in.

I'll have to hide the reference look ups still, maybe just keep that on a separate sheet.

I think from this format if you wanted to handle multiple manors you could then duplicate sheet (2) and (3) to handle that. Though that would require some formula updates to get the right (2) to move data to the right (3).

One thing I'm trying to do as well is keep any given worksheet small enough to stay printable on a single sheet of paper.

Dropbox link to my version 1 of a Manor Spreadsheet.

Questions and comments definitely welcome.

Bonus Link:
An Excel version of Greg's Family Record Form. Sample is partially filled in to show how I have been using it. If the family adds more knights, copy in more sheets. :D
