Just curious how many of you are runing your 5th Ed Pendragon games using rules/adventures/stat blocks/etc taken from older material. Although the rules have changed it's not really a cosmic alteration and it seems that items b etween editions would be pretty portable. Have you used much older material and, if so, what changes have been required?

I bough the 1st Ed Pendragon Campaign and I'm strognly considering the sinking of Cantref y Gwaelod as an adventure for next session - we've had two session of military campaigns in a row and I want to make sure there's plenty of chances for traits. I'll need to note the absence of the Custom skills which are mentioned once or twice (and switch a couple of "lose glory" references to "lose honour") but otherwise I don't think much work will be required. (I'll be running it a bit early - 489 - but since that region seems unmentioned in the latest edition I don't think this causes any problems.)
Similarly, I've got my eye on The Grey Knight for the middle of the Boy King period - it seems like a nice way to mark the shift from anarchy to chivalry with a magical quest, and I have a lot o love for Larry DiTillio so want to give his work some use. :-)
Finally, older edition material remains the only way to make a PC magician. Not sure I'm desperate to include one but I have been typing up a few Excel character sheet templates so I have the option.

I actually stuck to 4th edition (since I prefer the 531 start date).
Used all the old edition adventures.
Lordly Domain is the only one retired in favor of BoM, though thinking of bringing it back..

I'm surprised by the amount of flak Lordly Domains gets. OK the economics part may have been flawed but there's plenty more info in that book. I've used the stats for Hunting, Falconry and animal types quite a few times.

I use a lot of the "location" books from Pen-4.

Also use the "Saxons" book.

I have the pdf for Lordly Domains, so I'll have to have a second look at Hunting, Falconry, etc.

Also use Pen-4 for the magic rules, for those times they are encountering strange magic stuff.

Dont misunderstand me, I've used Lordly Domains in my previous campaign, but since it's incompatible with BoM, I had to choose and I wanted to give BoM a chance to I used BoM last campaign. However as indicated I am thinking of swapping back (the economics were not so flawed, just different from BoM).

Lordly domains is excellent! Apart from the economic system ... I use the info on hunts, falconry, tournaments. And the animals.

I use bits from several editions.

- The stat blocks in 5th+ never worked for me. It seems that my brain were permanently imprinted with the stat blocks from 3rd/4th so I often use those over the newer ones.

- I use the hell out of Saxons! After the GPC, it is probably my all time favorite book. If only Land of Giants had been this good

- If I need to look something up, I more often than not find myself turning to 3rd ed. There is something about the focus and clarity of the edition that is appealing more and more to me (No British Christianity among other things)

- I use some rules from Lordly Domains. Not the economy, but hunting, raiding etc
