So our PKs miraculously survived the St. Alban's massacre (except for the poor fellow who went mad during the battle and has been MIA ever since). Of course my lustful pagan is alive thanks to getting busy in the barn while his lord and king were being murdered.

Unfortunately during 495's winter phase, Sir Aedgar lost his 3rd and most beloved wife in childbirth. This is the good Christian woman who had a priest following him trying to convert him. His previous two wives and two infant sons by them both perished early on, and the priest blamed this on his sinful pagan ways. Now he has 2 sons and 4 daughters (2 of them illegitimate) to raise, and having had his heart broken he's obtained a courtesan for umm comfort in this difficult time.

I'm debating whether or not to have him remarry. Currently the St. Alban's widows are understandably upset with him. He is above 5k glory and was just made banneret of southerner Salisbury. His home is at Falt and we left off with 496 negotiations with Cernic unresolved. So there's lots of political balls in the air.... Also since he loves his family, he may want to seek out a widow who already has children around the same ages - how exactly do stepkids work in KAP?

One of my player-knights, Sir Daffyd, lost his first three wives in childbirth, but his fourth (who was a princess of Malahaut) gave him seven beautiful daughters and likely would have lived to old age had the campaign not ended prematurely. It's a fairly typical thing in KAP for a knight to bury several wives. Step-children inherit from their birth-parent, though it's possible to adopt an heir if you lack one (or prefer he or she not inherit).

I know. However my PK has notable Love of Family and several of his children have been sick recently. I am thinking they're depressed over their mother's passing - and they're all little, his heir will just be turning 6 and I want them to live. He is superlative which helps and now has 4 manors, so he's not looking for money or land and for the time being may not be looking for love. But he does want a happy home life, at least for his kids.

His home is in Falt right on the southern border so he's thinking strategically, but also doesn't want a wife who might betray him by opening the gates to their enemies, harming his children, etc.
