So, my wife's PK said she was going to pray, fast, and take the Host the night before the battle of Lindsey. Should I have awarded something in the way of a Combat bonus the next day for this bit o' roleplaying? Or is just assumed that knights do all this anyway? Continuing that line of thought, should I require a "Religion" roll or something to learn if he was sufficiently Pious to earn a bonus? Also, he has a recently had a religious epiphany and acquired a Love (God) passion. Is that a useful one to invoke in battle against heathens of any stripe?
Thanks,
T.

Everyone does that. Frankly, there still ARE atheists in foxholes, but there's nobody who sits on the fence about it...
"My armor is perfect (checked it 24 times already), and my sword as sharp as a razor, I'm nervous as hell and won't show it, and everybody's going to go pray to that guy I am not sure about because they say he will do a miracle to save a life and heck, I've nothing else to do..."

Yes, it is a passion
your campaign will decide on whether you want to make this particular religious hatred a functioning power of the God in question, you know, the one who brought universal love and was killed for it?
SOMETHING certainly is needed to explain the Crusades and Jihad
If it is Love (God), make it so
