On page 58 of Book of Knights & Ladies under the section on skill choices for "Knights"

it says:-

"The rules here are repeated from King Arthur Pendragon
5th ed., pg.. 29–30."

However point 4. says in BoK&L:-

"4. Add 10 more discretionary points, to be divided in any amount
among any number of non-combat skills of your choice."

However in KAP 5.0 it says:-

"4. Add 10 more points (again keeping in mind the limitations
given above) divided among any number of combat
or non-combat skills of your choice."

and in KAP 5.1 it says:-

"4. Add 10 more points (again keeping in mind the limitations
given above) divided among any number of combat
or non-combat skills of your choice."

i.e. in BoK&L the reference to allowing combat skills to be augmented in point 4 of this process is missing.

Cheers!

Ooh got another one, page 59 it says:-

"Note: If a bonus applies to a skill that is one of the skills subsumed by a new Specialty skill, simply add the modifier to the Specialty skill. Thus, for instance, a Roman whose father was an urban officer adds the +2 modifier to his Law skill instead of his Folklore."

But from the table "Father's Class Benefit", the urban officers listed are "Chief Engineer" and "Garrison Commander", neither of which have a modifier to Folk Lore.

Cheers!

Possible Errata?

Page 80, BoK&L

The Religious Bonus for:-

Christian, Neoplatonist is noted as:-

+2 Hit Points, +1 Damage, +2 Healing Rate

Which seems out of balance with other bonuses received, i.e. British Pagan receives + 2 Healing Rate only.

Should this be +1 Healing for a Neoplatonist Christian?

Page 45, Saxon Standard Trait Sets appear incorrect, i.e. Brit Christian & Germanic Pagan have similar sets of traits despite some being religious virtues and not the other.

For both Christian and Pagan:-

Chaste/Lustful is 10/10 - Brit Christian should have +3 to Chaste

Energetic/Lazy is 11/9 - Brit Christian should have a further +3 to Chaste

Modest/Proud is 7/13 - should be other way around for Brit Christian? - Same for Temperate/Indulgent

Pious/Worldly is 7/13 - should be 10/10 for Brit Christian? - Same for Prudent/Reckless

Cheers!

My corrections to the first edition indicate that I intended to correct this so that
Standard Traits: use Lady's and Regional Modifiers and Individual Differences
Random Traits: use Lady's and Regional Modifiers
Shaped Traits: no modifiers

Actually, this is not an error, but intentional
I did that to indicate that the Saxons adopt the Christian religion, but NOT the practices associated with it

.p 62: Item 18 on Table 23, Irish Luck is an "Irish Courser."

p. 81: Items 12-15 on Table 33, Byzantine Luck is a "Persian Courser" (stats are the same as Irish Courser)

However, the table on p. 120: Horse Statistics (by Type) does not list an Irish Courser.

Maybe I will add for Irish Courser:
"See Persian Courser.: :D

I noticed a mistake in the Book of Knights&Ladies, old version...
The Pict ladies seems to have, in the first period of time, a Tourney skill of 1, while their male counterparts have it at 0.

I suppose it may be a mistake.
