Greetings, All:

First bought PD at Origins when it first came out, after seeing Greg talk about the game (got him to sign the books then!). It was the first RPG I had bought that my wife read through and even drafted an adventure on her own (if I recall, she attended a seminar that Greg did at the next Origins I went to).

At the time, our gaming groups were most heavily into Call of Cthulhu and Stormbringer, but Pendragon fit in nicely given the more episodic way we ran it (plus there was a lot the members of the group could do on their own, in between sessions). I accumulated the first edition materials, third edition (no, I don't claim to have bought the mythical second edition!) and fourth edition. Alas, I missed out on the novels, modules and fifth edition book as at the time I had put gaming away to try and save a job (silly me).

Last night I came across a reference to Malory, dug up my old (1970's) two-volume edition from Penguin. Then remembered Pendragon, dug around on the web, found Greg's website, then found this forum, then dug my books up.

Not sure if I will run it again (alas, my notes seem to be gone--and even bigger alas, so are a couple of letters Greg wrote to me, including one telling me my adventure outline was more fit for Call of Cthulhu or Stormbringer--I think we had SAN sucking undead zombie knights...), or dabble. It's a good game for dabbling. And, heck, I could spend a year of five just re-reading all the Arthurian fiction I have (let along buying any books to fill holes in the collection!).

Final thought, I was digging through my materials, and noticed a gap in the numbering. 2715. Where was my 2715? Have I lost a module. Oh, foo. Luckily, Greg's history of the publication helped me with:

CASTLE OF BONES (cancelled) (CHA2715)
COMMENTARY:

This was the title of the proposed and unfinished supplement dealing with Faerie and its inhabitants. I had done some work on it, and had several contributions for it, largely stats for the denizens and monsters. But we could never quite pull it together with scenarios. We had assigned the number, though, and so this is a blank in the list of products.

Cancelled, oh well. It sounds like it would have been wonderful!

A pity. The game could use a really good (and preferably dark) book on the Faerie. (I think that there are a parallel universe floating about somewhere where both Castle of Bones and Pendragon 2 ed actually exists).

You should pass your material over to Greg. We might convince him to make av Book of Fae!

Sorry, did not mean to mislead you. My "materials" are the published books; I was sorting them by the Chaosium publication numbers and I noticed the gap (no 2715).

I actually don't have any original materials! In fact, I seem to have lost all my previous notes, and the two or three letters that Greg had sent me, alas.

But it seems to me that CASTLE OF BONES (cancelled) (CHA2715) would have become much more than just that adventure ... ?
