My 11-year-old son recently read Lancelot by Christine Chaundler for school and saw me looking at my Pendragon books. He asked if they were for the same storyline and decided he wanted to play.
We started on his character "Sir Edwin" tonight:
In the year of our Lord 464, Edwin was born in the Saxon county of Surrey. In 479, he was squired. And in 485, during the reign of King Uther, he was knighted - in his case, a very unusual event. You see, even though Edwin was the eldest, the heir, his father was only a squire to the deputy Marshall. However, the Marshall needed more knights for battle, so Edwin was made a household knight. Though Saxons - the mistrusted minority - they are loyal to the Pendragons, and they believe the God of the victors is worthy to be their God as well, so they are British Christians.
Ah... a great start to a new dynasty.
