I can't remember what we did last time (which was a year or more ago at this point) and can't seem to find it in the 5.1 book: The Dex Modifiers section in Chapter Six says it affects *some* Dex Rolls, but is vague at best, and the Knockdown section in the same chapter doesn't mention modifiers one way or the other. And of course the definitive Dexterity Roll section in Chapter Four says it only affects 'actions that involve agility or movement' which I could see going either way. Clearly it's not going to be the end of the world regardless of what I choose, so long as I apply the same rules to everyone, I just don't want to have an excess amount of people getting knocked-down needlessly -- only the intended amount!

I've never used an armour penalty to affect a knockdown check, or anything involving balance in general.

Anything else like running, climbing, dodging, throwing - yes sirree!

Awesome, thanks. That was the side I erred on, but I wanted to be sure.

Would it affect the feint/double feint combat manoeuvre?
I have always GMed at does orcassionally to the protest of my PKs

I no longer allow those maneuvers in my game
perhaps someone else will opine

Acutally that is a answer in of itself.
I think I amgoing to stick with applyng it to that manoeuvre.

None of my Players abuse it so far.
