I don't mean the social site, but rather...has anyone ever endeavored to scan the individual portraits from the Pendragon campaign book to use them as props to show the players when someone is talking or someone shows up in a scene? A fellow GM and I were looking to undertake the project but were wondering if the work has already been done. If not, is anyone interested in lending us a hand? We're happy to share the fruits of our labor.

When using the published materials like this, it will be best to send the scans to me for inclusion on the official web site rather than having someone report to me that the material is being hijacked and making me contact you afterwards.
Please.

We'd be happy to do that, Greg. It certainly isn't our intention to hijack anything, but rather create a significant GM and player aid in telling the story for everyone looking to take up the game. If you'd be willing to host it/officially sponsor it, that would be fantastic.

That's what the web site is for
Thanks!

I'm up to the Grain Quest period and will finish up on Monday (busy weekend ahead). What I'd love is to pool resources here to try to get photos for the ones not featured in the book. I've used the feature in past campaigns, and it goes a long way to drawing players into a scene. They (quite literally) focus on the moment and having a face to put to the actions and words of a character helps them retain context and information much more effectively.

I just sent Greg a zip of all the faces features in the GPC book. You'll notice that a number of notable faces are missing and probably should be accounted for. Does anyone have faces that they'd be willing to share? Can we work together to fill in the gaps?
Here's a list of the ones featured. Notable absences that spring immediately to mind are Uther, Merlin, Pellinore, Cynric, Ulfius, and Balin. Of course, I'm thinking from a "just starting" frame. I'm sure those of you further along have some ideas of other people who it would be good to have pictures of (perhaps even more than one, based on era). What do you guys think?
(Quick note on pics: I named them based on the starting year of a given era. Just made it easier to lump them together, particularly for characters with more than one image.)

If you're looking for stats on some of those characters, DriveThruRPG has the Pendragon Gamemaster Characters. (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/15749/Pendragon-Gamemaster-Characters?manufacturers_id=3020&it=1)

Thanks, Memnon. It's not the stats that worry me, but rather being able to put faces to names for the players (and myself). I've run a few Cthulhu campaigns, and that's a feature that has always been useful for the players. It's a subtle thing in the grand scheme, but with such a huge tapestry, it's an important one, too.

I would fully recomend that you do this or use images of your own making. I have found it makes a big difference in helping players remember who is who - almost essential in a game with so many NPCs.
I've used images from film and tv - usually freely released publicity shots manipulated a little in photoshop - to great effect.

I've just posted the images sent by phimseto to Greg on his website (thanks for doing this!) They can be found at: http://www.gspendragon.com/gpcfaces.html. They are also linked to from the front page and the What's New page.

No problem! Thank you for arranging them like you did on the site! That helps just as much!
Hoping to get a hand on filling in some of those gaps, though! :-D
