View Full Version : Who else keeps a campaign blog?

Or rather who else is in/runs a game for which a blog is kept?

My group plays once a week on a weeknight, 7-10:30pm ish, (and has done for ten years) and Our GPC GM is a genius.

We generally keep blogs for all of our campaigns, and our pendragon game is no exception.

https://sites.google.com/site/pendragoncampaign/

It is enormously usefull in keeping track of what has gone on, helping players catch up if they miss a session, and generally makes entertaining reading.

So who else uses a blog? Post your links, Share the glory!

And just for giggles, some of our non Pendragon games,

I don't keep one per se, since my GPC is play-by-post, so the old threads are there to review.

However, I will recommend the Solo GPC blog at http://shirosrpg.blogspot.com/ . It's a lot of fun to read, and helps me get re-inspired when my focus is waning. Same is true for reading the archives of some of the public Play-By-Post games.

Thanks for the link, Dan. I look forward to reading it. I spend a lot of time on various Pendragon blogs, trawling for ideas. Although I have about 18 bookmarked, there are a handful of really good ones that I highly recommend:

http://hertfordshirekap5.wikidot.com/start

http://www.kap5.net

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/solo-gpc

http://www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=31067

http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16544&order=desc&tg=14540

I keep my campaign notes and narrative in Evernote, so they're not publicly available. But it's a tremendous GM tool — helps me keep everything highly organized and easily retrievable. I keep everything in it, pretty much and give my players access to only the bits that their characters would know. Works like a charm.

Best,

T.

The last one on that list is me, by the way. :)

There are a couple there that I hadn't seen, so thanks for those!

I'd also add http://www.realroleplaying.com/rmsmf/index.php?board=385.0 as a fun one, which I'm working my way through now.

@ Psycke: Very nice work. I might be interested in joining when you have a slot open up. The other problem is I don't know if I can currently make the time commitment. Maybe in the future, though.

Best,

T.

I'm currently playing through the GPC. We've had a bit of a break recently though as my home life was turned upside down. Should be starting again soon.

My blog is:

I've just moved it there from live journal so all the entries are under one day.

It's still under construction so will have new pages soon.

After keeping a blog and then a wiki on my D&D campaign, I've found a campaign wiki an enormously useful campaign tool and have included one in several RPGs I've been running lately.

My Pendragon campaign wiki is at http://kingarthurpendragon.wikia.com/. We've been a little lax in updating of late, admittedly, but that's because iv'e been internet-less since moving house and having issues with my telephone company. :-)

Used to over at: www.pendragonchronicles.org.uk (http://www.pendragonchronicles.org.uk) but got out of the habit of updating it. I must get back to it! Maybe this will spur me on to look at it once more.

We don't keep a blog. But we have our own forum where all information is posted. Very useful.

Same here. Character descriptions, scheduling, campaign log, useful links, house rules, misc chatter etc.

I, as a GM, describe each session shortly afterwards. After 3 years of weekly playing, it's now well over 200 pages! We are planning to print hard copies as mementos for each participant after we are done (in another 3 years or so...).

So, Merlin,

How are those updates coming..? :)

Not so much a blog, but a series of weekly write-ups.

Here: http://rpggeek.com/forum/495835/the-great-pendragon-campaign/sessions

My old GM (Tychus/Sabredleg) did our Sunday, Bloody Sunday write-ups there.

I would highly recommend the Patching/Panzer-Attack sessions named "Cardiff Boys" and also SCrowe's 3 Knights of Salisbury.

If it is not obvious, I am villagereaver there as well. :P

I don't have a blog, but I run two play-by-post games at http://makofan.proboards.com, and it may or may not be interesting reading through the yearly adventures

I'm starting to keep a running journal on the boards for my roll20/skype campaign, but I'm not sure non-players can view them.
Perhaps at some point I'll transfer it to a normal blog.

Hi

The kap5 site is mine. The only reason I've locked out some sections is because I am now running a multi faction game during the Anarchy period with different people vying for control of Salisbury. At present I have one guy in Sweden, one in Australia and another in the UK. As these groups are playing against each other I've had to lock out various parts of the website to protect sensitive infomartion.

Is there something specific you're after as I can proivde the password to that section.

I humbly submit my own blog: http://talesfromlogres.wordpress.com
I have borrowed shamelessly from other, more talented recaps. For those whose original ideas I've pilfered (to my mind comes in particular BigSteveUK) I can only paraphrase Prior: "Be to my faults a little kind".

Edit: Corrected the link.

you have added the ftp link. Exchanging the ftp to http means you get to the right site. It is a nice read.

My RPG group decided that we should have a blog, and I've been holding off showing anyone until it's all updated and completed. Which it is! Please come have a look - we've almost finished the Uther Period.

This is my second time GMing the GPC. The first game I ran was One Brief Shining Moment, which I ran online on a Warhammer forum; it died out from general fatigue at the beginning of the Anarchy Period, but I hope that this one will make it much further.

Good job, Calarion! I love seeing these things and from them I routinely and shamelessly lift things for my own campaign. Thanks for sharing and please keep up the good work. It's inspiring!

I recently started a new Pendragon campaign, since my earlier campaign (a 4th edition game spanning the years 531-565, which started over ten years ago :P ) is reaching its end, and decided to keep a blog about it. If you don't mind my "crappy fantasy novel" writing style and the occasional mistakes in my non-native English, feel free to check it out!

Since Salisbury is quite familiar to my PKs from the last campaign, I decided to change the setting to something quite different.

I've recently started building our campaign at the link below. Set in the North for the most part currently, with the players being squires and then knights of Gorre. It will run through the anarchy period and beyond. We're considering also having a play-by-post aspect to the game to open it up to more people.

I recommend this campaign blog, too. It's very well written, in fact it reads as well as fiction. It's my favourite campaign blog. Great inspiration and great insight on how to implement the GPC while still doing your own thing. I can't recomend it enough.

Just follow the link and click on the tab that says "The Solo GPC". There it lists all the campaign related posts, including the year-by-year posts. It's excelent stuff.
