I read recently in another post that the knight who delivers the killing blow in a combat gets to divide the glory. Could someone elaborate on this please? Does that mean you divide the glory how you see fit? Or in some other preferential way?

I usually divide evenly, unless someone held back or potential bonuses for great ideas and really lucky crit rolls.

I'm not aware of there being an official rule as to how the glory won in an encounter is divided. If memory serves me right it was Greg who said that in combat he has whoever lands the killing blow divide the glory between the player knights involved. I like that - it stops the GM being seen always as the bad guy, but also gets the players thinking about the consequences of their actions more.

That is correct, I generally use this method for those reasons.
Also, it is appropriate to the genera.

That is a stroke of simple genius! I shall be using it from this point forwards.

I've always divided it myself based on my own nebulous rational of how much each character contributed.

I'll try that other method sometime tough.

Whereas I often intervened at first, to offer guidance to the players, I'd do that; then ask the correct character if he agrees. Usually so (look at Greedy though! Proud! etc.)
it doesn't take long for some "standards" to be accepted

After Greg suggested it I always let the player decide.

Great for inspiring a bit of healthy conflict and competition.

Also I tend to let the knight who landed the killing blow be the only one able to gain the nickname/title.

Last time we played they killed a Wyrm, now Sir Arawain easily did the most dmg, but Sir Odrig got the killing blow, so he is known as WyrmSlayer. Again really annoys the players (in a good way) and motivates them to get stuck in, if I wanted sneaky bloody thieves I would play DnD!!

Also very funny to see them all rush home to compose their own version of the tale, one knight is even considering recruiting a spindoctor!!!

We've gotten to the point where we split glory, but just a musing if your troop has kill stealers. Swear pacts of loyalty (friends) and then make the kill stealer roll on it if they don't share the glory.
