I hope that this is the right forum for this...

Is there any idea when, or indeed if, the 2nd edition of the BoB will be available as a Print on Demand on Drive Through? I've got one of the original books printed by Greg and so I'm not eligible for a discount from Nocturnal, so given that I'd been hoping to hold out for a physical book.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hi, Oly—

Without going through all the gory and rather tragic details, we had a production SNAFU that resulted in a setback with the POD versions of the Book of Battle 2nd Edition (we were also planning a hardback version).

The good news is we're still planning POD versions of this magnificent tome — but we've decided to prioritize the Book of the Estate, now in production. As soon as that's done, we'll be returning to the Book of Battle II POD versions as our next priority. They should be available at some point this Spring.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will make it right as soon as we get out this new book of Pendragony goodness! One upside is that we will no doubt update the content to reflect any errata we capture between now and then. So here's calling for all PDF owners to report anything amiss so we can address it over the next few weeks before resuming POD production.

Best,

T.

For those of you who missed it — the Book of Battle, 2nd Edition will have POD versions available within the next few days, hopefully within the week. Nocturnal will be issuing a coupon for all who purchased the downloadable PDF to the the POD version at a discount to equal what you'd pay if your purchased the PDF/POD bundle! Make sure you've allowed publishers to contact you in your account profile on DriveThru RPG and you'll automagically be sent the offer!

Thanks for your patience, as we recovered from our production SNAFU. We will try to release future POD versions closer to the release of their PDF siblings.

Best,

Any news on the PoD version (including hard-cover)?

Thanks!

Yes! I saw the final proof last Friday and approved them for uploading to DriveThruRPG. Should be any day now. I'm surprised they're not up there already. The release is imminent. If you're a NOCTURNAL follower, you should get an email notification along with a voucher for the bundle price if you've already purchased the PDF, so make sure you're so configured in your account settings.

Just sent an email. If I can get that discount for my purchase of the PDF, I will definitely pick this up in hard copy.

For all of you who did not receive a bundle-price discount code for the POD hard back, pleas email info@nocturnal-media.com. They should hook you up. If you don't receive an answer for some reason let me know, and I'll make sure no wires are crossed somewhere.

This is a great one to have in hardback!

Hey all,

So glad everyone is excited about this book. It's a beauty. I'm happy to receive and reply to emails from those who need assistance at info@nocturnal-media.com. If you are writing to get the coupon code that credits your PDF purchase toward a POD edition, then please include your DTRPG order # so I can reference it.

For the long haul, the best bet for everyone is if you check your email notification settings on DTRPG to make certain you receive notices from Nocturnal Media. I send coupon links via DTRPG messaging for discounts on POD editions to everyone who purchased the PDF. If your notifications are already set correctly, then scour your junk/spam folder.

Reminders: the discount for Book of the Estate ends 10/1 and the Book of Battle II discount ends 11/1.

My copy arrived in the post today. Haven't had the chance to look through in detail, but have to say it's looking good! ;D

I finally got around to reading this properly the other day and it was used on Sunday. We ran through 508 and the Battle of Netley Marsh.

We found the system quite easy to use. I few moments of going back and forth through the book but that is to be expected. The players didn't mind and said it made battles seem more real and seeing as I killed three of the four knights I think they are scared of them now. Which is as it should be. We had some great moments, one guy getting unhorsed just after he had lost his squire. On one occasion he faced two sets of opponents and still prevailed. He was the only survivor of the PKs.

I would definitely recommend the book. Even if you have the 1st edition as the 2nd is so much more clear on things.

That's great to hear, Lusus! Clarifying the rules was the main design goal of the 2nd Edition and it's very gratifying to receive this kind of feedback.

Thanks!
