I was reading through the errata and noticed that the mounted bonus applies to each skill roll if applicable, which is cool!

I'm assuming that other circumstantial modifiers would also apply, like being behind a wall or having superior footing or what not.

My question is, does being inspired add before or after you split your skill?
My instinctive response is 'no', but it'd be great to have this clarified!

I'd say no. Inspired adds directly to your skill. Circumstantial modifiers are added later to modify your chances of success.

I am with Earl. In our campaign, it goes like this:

Knight with Sword 15 on horseback is fighting three opponents on foot. He is inspired (+5 in our campaign, and we have toned down the penalties a bit, too) and fighting defensively.
Skill: 15
+5 for inspired
+10 for Defensive
= Skill 30 vs. 3 enemies
= 10 / 10 / 10 (if divided equally)
+5 for being on horseback
= 15 / 15 / 15

Then again, had he been knocked down, he would get that -5 position modifier against each enemy as well, rendering his skill to 5 / 5 / 5. At that point, he would be better served to focus on two or one enemy, like 10 / 10 / 0 or 25 / 0 / 0.

Oh? I have not been granting that on the Horsemanship roll made to avoid falling off the horse if the knight suffers knockdown damage inflicted by an enemy on foot.

have I been doing that wrong, then?

Each weapon skill roll, when splitting one's attacks between multiple foes. Has nothing to do with Horsemanship and knockback.

Well, I ran the session adding passion to the skill before splitting and situational stuff afterwards and it seemed to work fine.

Inspired bonus is added before splitting the skill
