I just stumbled over the Pendragon fanzine from the mid 1990s called BEAUMAINS. I've never heard of it. What's in it and was it good? Is there a chance for a re-publication as PDF?

Beaumains's publication was irregular at best, and it was very rarely seen outside the UK. I don't recall the single issue I saw well enough to attest one way or the other as to the nature or quality of the content. It was nearly twenty years ago...

I have about three issues I picked up "back in the day" from local game stores etc. I really liked it.
It was all first edition stuff with plenty of people trying to fill in the gaps and introduce stuff to Pendragon they felt should be there. For example there was an expanded timeline which may have been superseded by later official material and I think, an ongoing feature which was a sort of Arthurian encyclopedia. However I also remember an adventure or two. If it's the same one there was a five damsels/three damsels one which may be available elsewhere (is that the same one that got a shout out in the favourite adventures thread?) I also remember fondly a Mithraism religion write up which I think I used a time or two.

I think the editor/creator was a guy named Gareth from Brighton.

Hold on a second.

Just checked. I have issues 2,4 and 6. It's the creation of Gareth Jones of Southampton. It's a 3rd edition era publication. With breaking news about the 4th edition announced in issue 2. With contributions from a bunch of people. There's at least one adventure in each of the issues I own, with the Adventure of the Five Ladies by Heidi Kaye in issue 4. The cover price was £1.75.

As I say, I remember it as excellent. I'd buy more copies now if I could get hold of them!

There were six issues published. The last shows up on ebay from time to time, but the earlier ones are very seldom seen.
