Hey All

Confession time, I last played Pendragon in the heady days of around 1991/2 something like that (Third Edition - which is what we will stick with) but over the past few years a small group of friends and I have been playing RPGs once a week each taking a turn to ref something (we have had some obscure ones too - Seven Seas, Beyond the Supernatural and Boot Hill spring to mind).

For a while now I have been trying to persaude them to give Pendragon a go, I always remembered it as being a great game and have finally got my chance to introduce them to it. Normally we plan the new games some months in advance but due to unforeseen circumstances our current GM had to pull out from GM'ing which left us with a gap. So in I jumped :) I was in somewhat at the deepend but a rapid flick through brought back most of the rules guided three of the group through character creation (they chose Breton Knights) threw some plot at them in order to justify them being in Logres (Earl Robert of Salisbury saved the life of their lord many years ago and has called in a favour as he needs some people he knows will not have any local affiliations).

I also put them through a Tourney so they would get a basic understanding of the system (opposed rolls, combat, Tourney, courtly behaviour, special combat moves et al) and a flavour of the rich world (interactions with some of the more notable Knights - some for the best and some less so but that makes for interesting stuff later).

Now - here comes the question - As it has been so long since I GM'ed or even played Pendragon my resources for the game are a little limited and as I am suddenly having to come up with NPC's (both major long term ones with courts/communities etc and random throw away things to throw at the players as n when need arises). I have looked at Greg's page and picked some useful info up from there but does anybody have anything that they particularly recommend I check out (eg resource web pages or tools - such as NPC generators etc). Also if there is a Bestiary with a few creatures/fae/etc and stats that would also be much appreciated.

Given time I can produce most of this but tiime is not on my side and so anything which gives me a heads up and saves me a bit of time would be awesome :) I can then concentrate on plot and making the world come alive to the players so on.

Many thanks for your time and help

Saggy

Welcome aboard Saggy

NPC's (both major long term ones with courts/communities etc and random throw away things to throw at the players as n when need arises). I have looked at Greg's page and picked some useful info up from there but does anybody have anything that they particularly recommend I check out (eg resource web pages or tools - such as NPC generators etc).

I am confident someone will refer you to one of these
I do recommend the stats at the back of KAP
You do not really need full stats for combat victims

Also if there is a Bestiary with a few creatures/fae/etc and stats that would also be much appreciated.

An extensive bestiary is at the end of Great Pendragon Campaign
Also, that book contains over 100 adventures and adventure seeds

Hi Saggy,

Here are a few Pendragon utilities that come to mind.

Pendragon Programs website (http://enora.dk/pendragon/index.html)- Squire generator, Family generator, Jousting simulator, Knight generator.

Pendragon Toolbox (http://nocturnal-media.com/forum/index.php?topic=1297.0)- Character creator.

The website for the next program is defunct but I uploaded (for download) a zip file of the program file folder.
Domesday Referee Tools (http://www.mediafire.com/download/yo9aog829d5q451/Domesday.zip)- Contains: Census (family generator), Non-Player Character generators (including animals and a few mystical beasts), Name list generator, Armorial generator, and Hunt planner.

Many thanks for the help - appreciate it :)

I have picked up some of the PDFs of the books which combined with KAP should allow me to cover most bases (I like to give the PCs as much freedom as possible so who knows where they may wander or whom they may seek so useful to have a fair bit at my fingertips, saves doing it on the fly and having to remember names etc later).

The tools sound great so will be making the most of those too and having explored this site in a bit more detail and found some interesting and useful stuff we are all looking good :)

Cheers

Saggy
