Maybe this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm confused about the upkeep costs of solders between Book of the Manor, Book of the Entourage and Book of the Estate...
In Book of the Manor and Book of the Entourage a spearman, swordsman/man-at-arms costs £1, and an archer, crossbowman costs £1. However, in Book of the Estate, 19 spearmen cost £9.5, a cost of £.5 per spearman. Likewise, 5 archers cost £2.5 or £.5 per archer. A "commander of foot" costs £1 but it's unclear to me if the commander of foot is armed as a sergeant or is just a spearman with authority.
Also Book of the Entourage, a knight costs £4, while in Book of the Estate 6 knights cost £18, or £3 per knight (though their squires, at £1 each, are listed separately).
Does Book of the Estate represent a reduction in the costs of soldiers? If so, should there be any changes to the costs of sergeants, mounted sergeants?
