I love the new survival-rolls from BoE.

But I am unsure how to combine them with the childbirth table.

Do you use both tables for wives? First roll for childbirth (risking the wives life) then roll for survival on BoE?

I wouldn't. The Survival table, in my understanding, is used for the NPC relatives who are not tracked in detail. Hence, the risk of childbirth is already factored in as a modifier, I think.

The 10% chance of croaking per year is more than enough for the PKs' wives. Adding another 10% on top of that would be overkill, literally. :P

Morien called it correctly
Wives, other family, Squires and certain special entourage members already have their rolls
The Survival Tables are for everyone else

Great! I got it now!

We've been using them with success for armies the last few years. We've had to write up who's who in the armies, but it's working well so far. Also interesting to see when kin actually dies, what it does to the players.
