Roll20 is the best tool i found to play Pendragon online.
They are currently developing a new feature : character sheet.
Community can create character sheet for any system.
For the moment it's only available for mentors (subscription).

My questions :
does anybody else use Roll20 ?
Does somebody start such a sheet for Pendragon ?
Is it ok for licence purpose ?

I could start to make it myself if nobody else want to do it.

I run my campaign in Roll20. I'd love to help with a sheet (assuming we can secure the publisher's permission, of course — which I'll be happy to solicit immediately). I don't have any HTML, Javascript or CSS skills, unfortunately — but I'm an Information Architect and front-end designer by day, and the guy who did the interactive character sheets on DriveThru RPG. If I could team up with a coder, we could probably make a character sheet in short-order...

The campaign I'm planning for fall will be on Roll20. I saw the character sheet template and am definitely interested. But, with no programming skills, am of no help.

[Taliesin... any openings?]

Is there a place where I can find more info about this without subscribing?

Cheers. This looks like something that could rather easily be implemented by any web front end developer. I can look into it more closely when the sheets go alive in May.

I'm going to be running the GPC in Roll20 soon and a working character sheet would be a wonderful tool to use.

Again... would love to play the GPC on Roll20! Same name on Roll20 as here.

Hey, Kilgs —

Alas, I'd love to have you in my game, but — even with only two players — I'm at full capacity when one considers the time I need to work on game products as well. I run a highly detailed game — lots of attention lavished on the PKs personal plot lines, households, and families — and it requires a lot of prep time just to stay on top of everything for these two players. Even then, we have long gaps between sessions as I've had so little time available over the past six months or so, as I've been working on THE GREAT PENDARGON MAP, which is finally seeing fruition in actual production maps for the Book of the Warlord.

Someday my situation may change and I'll keep you in mind but, right now, if I took on a third player, I wouldn't be able to do any of them any justice.

I know I'm probably "doing it wrong" but, hey, we're having fun and I guess that's all that matters!

Best,

T.

The character sheet support is now there, but creating and modifying is only available for premium members. They are pure HTML though, so I could probably still make the sheet, but I can't test it or make it available for play. I don't use Roll20, so as much as I advocate Pendragon, I am not going to pay for the service just make a sheet for you guys :)

Creating a sheet looks like a pretty straightforward task that requires only a hint of HTML skills (and CSS if you want to make it look good too). Here is a guide:

https://wiki.roll20.net/Character_Sheets

There are already quite a few sheets available for reference:

https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets

Modifying one of those will probably get you started, for example Call of Cthulhu has very similar mechanics (skill checks etc).

Stand by, I've enlisted one of my players to make one! He just stated working on it, so it may be awhile before it's fully developed and tested, so your patience is appreciated.

I am working on a RuneQuest 6 sheet for Roll20 at the moment. So far the only d100 sheets I have seen are for Call of Cthulhu.

Please do. I am currently running the GPC on Roll20 and I could really use one. I tried to make one myself but it was way over my head.

Sorry to say, progress has not been as fast as I'd hoped on this. Still trying to get it going, though.

But do not give up, our hopes depend on you!

I have tried myself but without any experience with HTML I know very well the meaning of slow progress. However, do let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I started working on it.
As soon i have something correct, i will put it online (on github).
The first version will be in french, but it will be easy to translate.

I like that Roll20 has great functionality but it's so user-un-friendly for folks not versed in computers. Whatever you can make is great!

The first version is available !
You can find the code on Roll20 github :
https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/Pendragon

You need a mentor account to copy paste in custom character sheet.

This version is in french, i hope to make an english version soon.

Any comment or suggestion or improvment is welcome ! :)

The sheet is now available, both in french and english (home made translation). 8)

This sheet is for Pendragon 5.1 edition.
It is divided in several tabs.
MANOR tab refers to Book of the Manor supplement.
PEOPLE tab refers to Book of Entourage supplement, but allows you to keep track of your family and squire anyway.
Some fields are missing, as distinctive features, because i think this information must be displayed on Bio & info tab of Roll20 character box.
Current HP is calculated with HP carac, current wounds and religious bonus.
Religious bonus are actives, except for wotanic religion.

There is a free note field in Skills tab to register additional informations.

Feel free to suggest improvments !

It looks great! The only two improvements I would suggest is on the first page: Title (blank)

Then whenever time permits, another tab for Holdings (pursuant to Book of the Estate and Book of the Warlord).

I finally had a chance to play with this. It seems to work great! Thanks so much for doing this — you beat me to the punch!

When you roll from the character sheet, you're asked to enter a modifier. Does this modify the Skill value or the dice roll?

I went into GitHub and made some edits to the English version, that I hope you'll accept. It's small stuff — capitalizing some of the labels, standardizing the Passions on the KAP convention so that "Love of Family" becomes "Love (Family) and "Pious" becomes "Spiritual" — a change that was made in Book of the Estate.

Thanks again!

The skill value, as it is in the rules.
But i didn't code anything for skills >20, too much work.
If somebody want to improve it ...

I made some edits, but I think you have to merge them with your code, after you review them. I'm not seeing the changes I made yet in Roll20. I'm new to GiyHib, so I could be overlooking something.

A couple of other things I've noticed:

1.) Greg has issued errata saying the Chivalry bonus should be 96.

2.) Can you make it where people can add skills? Sometime this comes up — like cultural skills, for example.

Best,

T.

I think you did it the good way.

There's a pull request, which have to be validated by an administrator (roll20 team).
It will be in a few days i guess.

Oh, I see — I didn't realize they had to validate the Pull Request. I'm actually not sure I officially did that, come to think of it.

I'll check it out!

Thanks,

Okay I've made some changes to the files, which are all live.

I did change the Chivalry threshold to 96, per the errata.
I made a number of small formatting issues to make the headers and subheads a consistent style, etc. I'd like to do more with the the CSS and styles, but that's not an emergency.
I've requested that the sheets be renamed "King Arthur Pendragon", but I don't know when or if that will happen. May have happened already, I haven't checked up on it.

There are some things that I'd like to do, but can't because I'm afraid I'll screw it up royally. But if you can manage the time, here are the things at the top of my Wish List:

1.) Make it so you can override the auto generated Move Rate value. Or just add an “Adj. for Armor” field where you can type in any number you want, because Move Rate varies in the game based on a number of factors including armor, encumbrance, etc..

2.) Provide an Armor field that introduces an Armor Attribute as well — that way we can subtract a Target’s armor from a damage roll automatically.

3.) Provide an ability to add or delete skills. This would come in handy for Cultural Skills, but also for non-Knightly skills for NPCs. Deleting skills would enable us to delete skills we don’t need (e.g. Romance and Tourney in the Early Phase)

4).) A place to record Glory awards, and tally the total automagically. I see it as another tab at the top, just added at the end of the current tabs on the right.

I'm really impressed with this, Tontionne. Good work, man! Now if we could just figure out how to do Crits, Partial Successes, and Fumbles we'd be golden!

Excellent work. I've been using Roll20 for a while for a few different systems and must say it's great. I haven't had much time to game at all, but playing on Roll20 means I can get in some at least. Hopefully will run Pendragon at some time, and then this sheet will be great. So I might see if I can help out on it. I'm an IT guy, but not really front-end/web developer, but can probably contribute something.

I asked the Roll20 admins to change the name of the character sheet to "King Arthur Pendragon" — and they have. Just didn't want anyone to panic if they went in there and couldn't find their "Pendragon" sheet.

Why the change?

1. It is the official title of the game, after all. Although it's been shortened to "Pendragon" in colloquial use, doing so in official capacities dilutes the brand a bit.
2. We're working on a new KingArthurPendragon.com site, so we want to reinforce the official name as much as we can.
3. We want to make sure that the new generation of gamers that's coming up associates "Pendragon" with King Arthur. Although the connection is elementary to us, and hopefully to anyone who's at least see EXCALIBUR, or MERLIN, it may not be the slam dunk you think it is. Everyone knows who King Arthur is. Remove that and you remove a possible connection point and frame of reference.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

It's all right !

I have a new job, and so no time anymore to work on the sheet, so if you can keep on improve it it's perfect. :)

Great stuff, thanks very much Tontione. I know it is years late but I am back to the Forums! I will try to test it soon and let you know.

Firstly thank you for creating a great Pendragon character sheet. I have found what I think is a small bug. The British Christian Religious Bonus adds +2d6 to damage but I think that should just be +2. Is there anyway the sheet could be changed or is the British Christian Religious bonus far better than the others?

thanks

Mark
