I've discovered the older editions of Pendragon in my quest to make Artesia more dynastic and epic. It works great with tweaking for Domains and (I'm hoping) Mass Combat. So herein shall be my questions regarding Lordly Domains:
1. Is there yearly maintenance on DV/Fortifications? If so, how much/where can I find it?
2. Tithe to Lord... what is a general amount, if any? (I figure on a Manor, the only real tithe is Knight service but wondering about bigger fiefs.)
3. In Projects/Improvement, it provides a list for creating a Hyrd or Hyde for the Lord's Portion. I thought I read a description of these somewhere in the book but can't find it. Essentially, what does this provide you? Also, it indicates that you can grow a Town with the full amount of revenue... can you do this anytime?
4. What is the upkeep/payment for a Steward?
5. Did anyone (or a supplement) tack on enhancements and such ala Book of the Manor?

just for the record
I do not recommend Lordly Domains
It does not fit with the other economic systems for KAP

I found it cumbersome and not something that I used too much. I tried but it just wasn't a product that worked. Many hours of calculation giving little you could really use.

Odd. So far, I think it's the simplest method that still allows customization and specificity. Granted, BoM is much better for KAP... As I mentioned, I'm hacking it for Artesia (Adventures in the Known World) and not planning on using it with Pendragon. But since I own BoM and BoE, that was where the question about building improvements and enhancements came from.

As to your questions:
(1) I don't think there was a yearly maintenance.
(2) I think the tithe was 10% but its been a long time. It wasn't for vassal knights but those with a bit more income. I don't think there was a specific rule though. More of a suggestion.
(3) Increasing the Lord's Portion just gives you more £. I suppose it models clearing assarts or improvements as in BoE. Increasing POP gives you more food and goods from a town, but it cost a lot. I don't remember if there were limits.
(4) Not listed as I remember. Assumed to be part of the 'upkeep' value for a lord.
(5) Don't think so.
It was pretty easy to get rich quick with Lordly Domains.

I think Eothar got it right (for the most part).
1. No maintenance. However, there is a generic fief maintenance of £1 / POP (see below).
2. If vassal knights control lands with population (1 POP = roughly a manor) greater than 4, they gain court fees. One third of these go to the liege lord.
3. Clearing more fields (increase Lord's Portion from £3 up to £5, +£1 at a time) takes quite lot of effort and successful Just, Energetic and Stewardship rolls. This made it pretty difficult and time consuming, but also kept the income in check. It was still worthwhile, but you could expect getting your own back in 10 years or so.
The other way to make money was to increase the size of your town/holding. This, in my mind, was made too easy as the step from 1 POP to 2 POP cost less than clearing £1 worth of fields but potentially doubled the 'town' income. And it was just as easy to do as the clearing of the fields. Hence, it was banned in our pre-BotM campaign. :P I suspect this is what Eothar was referring to with his comment of easy to get rich quickly.
4. I think steward is assumed, too. I think the old assumption was that a knight's upkeep is £6 whether he has a wife or not, as without a wife, the excess money goes to the upkeep of a steward.
5. No specific enhancements, only those two non-specific investments, although the 'clearing of the fields' also included improving the fishing / hunting / whatnot so you could tailor it to your manor. The effect was the same, though.
Of the three (BotM, BoE, Lordly Domains) I like BotM best, although if you like your PKs being able to build castles, LD makes it cheap enough to do. The prices are not in tune with BotM, though: a big keep costs as much as your manor house... We employed a quick fix by multiplying the prices of stone construction by 2, and haven't seen many stone keeps rising after that. Our current system uses BotM for everything else, except fortifications are from LD to keep things backwards compatible... and I like the PKs having a money sink that doesn't give them money in return! The investments in BotM are, in my mind, much easier to make money on than clearing the fields in LD. They don't take any extra effort to build, and while they may be destroyed by bad luck / raiding, during the more peaceful periods, they are a very good investment for the money, starting to turn a profit in many cases in 5-10 years.
