Okay, let me get the ball rolling! Melancholy seems to be an often troublesome area - how do you deal with players becoming melancholic after a messing up a Passion roll?

I wrote that quite badly. Please see my reconsideration here:

Oddly enough, when my players have failed a passion roll, they seem to relish the opportunity to get ... um, rather zealous ... in portraying and role-playing the "fumble" result. I think they view this as an excuse to go crazy-mad, kill things, run off into the forest and smite dragons, etc.
So, in short: I've never had a problem with it. Weird, I know. :)

I'm not sure that I recall one of players ever having failed a Passion roll. Crit successes on the other hand...those they seem to roll plenty.

In my campaign it usually happens only at the worst moment: trying to save one's wounded lord in battle, in front of the whole Royal Court, at the court of an enemy during a tense negotiation, etc. :D

One thing which I think is unclear with the melancholy rules is the extent to which the enraged knight attacks.
Does he attack until defeated, he kills, wounds, or knocks down his would be healer? Or is is just for one round?
