I'm creating a completely randomly rolled Knight to use as an npc.
Thanks to getting multiple luck rolls he has 7 horses to start with:
Frisian Destrier
Ordinary Destrier
Andelusian Charger
Barb Charger
Camargue Palfrey
Rouncy
Sumpter

My question is this:
Are the stats for a Destiers, Chargers, Palfreys etc. The same for their type?
Or is there a separate listing for Frisian and Ordinary Destriers, or the Chargers?

I've almost literally torn the book apart trying to find separate stats for both Destriers and both Chargers and the particular Palfrey.
Am I over complicating a simple system?

OK, what table are you using for those luck rolls? And in what phase are you playing? Because Frisian Destriers do not show up until late 540s, early 550s if I recall my timeline. They are basically big Destriers, doing +1d6 damage. Destriers show up in 530s, IIRC, and even Andalusians show up only post-Badon Hill. In Uther's time, the best horse you can have, even what the King has, is an ordinary Charger.

Page 120 of the Book of Knights and Ladies has the stats you're looking for.

Named types are normally better, or at least oddly different, than the generic types.

I used the Occitanian Luck Table on page 108
As the son of a lord he got three rolls ( father's class description on page 52)
Roll 1: 09; Ancestor was a Visigoths King
Roll 2: 20; Roll twice
A) 17; Frisian Destrier
B) 16; Andelusian Charger
Roll 3: 19; Upgrage Outfit by 1

The Occitanian Equipment Table on page 108 gives the son of a lord outfit 4
this was upgraded to outfit 5

Outfit descriptions on page 54:
1 Ordinary Destrier
1 Barb Charger
1 Camargue Palfrey
1 Rouncy
1 Sumpter
Lots of equipment
3 Squires

OK, so you are using 4th edition Pendragon which is set with the starting date 531 AD. You are rolling a random Occitanian knight, who is a son of Lord. And your rolls give out that he has excellent horses, which makes sense given his father's rank. A Lord here pretty much means a Count or such, after all...

Now I understand much better. :)

You'll find those breeds of horses in the Boy King -book (4th ed) as well.

Thank-you,
Now I'll have to look for Boy King.

I saw an earlier post in this thread that I can use meanwhile.

Just as a side note
When I rolled his family characteristic I got "good with horses"
