So the inheritance system still isn’t quite clear to me would anybody mind telling me if I got the thing correct
The scenario:
Knight with one manor Maries a lady with one manor and start controlling them both. Soon thereafter the knight dies during a battle leaving his now pregnant wife.
(The knights nearest living relative is his uncle)
Possibility 1: it’s a boy and lives
The unborn boy inherits both manors. A guardian is put into place to oversee the affairs until the boy comes of age. (Would that be the uncle or the mother?)
Possibility 2: it’s a stillborn boy
The knight’s uncle inherits manor 1 while the widow keeps manor 2
Possibility 3: it’s a girl
The unborn boy inherits both manors. A guardian is put in place to oversee the affairs until the boy comes of age.
Possibility 4: it’s a stillborn girl
As with possibility 2

Possibility 1 & 3: The child inherits both manors. The guardian is the liege lord, or whoever the liege lord wishes to appoint. Note that the widow is still technically the heiress of her own manor. If she remarries and gives birth to a son, that second child, the son, inherits her manor if the first child was a girl. Being granted a wardship is a bit deal, as WARLORD explains.

Possibility 2 & 4: You got it. However, the Widow is also entitled to a Widow's Portion (1/3rd) of the dead husband's estate, in this case 1/3rd of the manor's annual income, as long as she lives.
