For some time now, I have been slowly developing a Pendragon ruleset for the Fantasy Grounds RPG Virtual Tabletop and I am close to completion. If you aren't familiar with the FG software, you can check it out here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/.

My Pendragon ruleset includes fully automated character sheet, automated NPC sheet and combat tracker. I have coded the Pendragon dice rolling mechanics into the ruleset.

Are there any other FG users out there? Would anybody be interested in playtesting? Are there any licensing issues with regard to me sharing the rulesest for community use?

Sorry, Dux, this post escaped our notice.

There are lots of opportunities online for promoting the game and we're mulling this, even as we speak. Don't take out radio silence as disinterest. We've just had out heads down of late, working furiously on the next round of product.

Thanks for bringing it to out attention. Stay tuned.

Dux,
Sounds exciting. Online is something we definitely need to consider. Please send me a note directly at stewart <at> nocturnal-media <dot> com and let me know more about yourself and the project.

Thanks for replies Stewart, Taliesin.

Stewart, I have sent you an email as requested to explain a little more about myself and the project.

Awesome news indeed!

I had looked at cobbling together something similar (but a less complete set than yours sounds!) for our FantasyGrounds II group a few times in the past - but there is a *lot* of XML to wrap your head around when starting off... so I settled for hopeful google searches every few months in search of the elusive FG-II Pendragon ruleset.

And lo there was hope! (And a lot of search results like my own experience - cheerily looking under the hood of FG-II... and then slowly backing away)

Have you been taking it for a spin with a home-group there?
Hope to hear more about this ruleset - all my old players are spread across the country now so FG is a way to get the band back together.

It's true, ruleset development in FG has a fairly steep learning curve, but the recent Core Ruleset makes it a little easier to take advantage of the core functionality, while layering specifics on top. Once you do start to get to grips with the .html code and .lua script, the software is soooo configurable and open. And there's a great community to tap into for help and advice.

I haven't yet taken my ruleset for much of a spin with my home group of players. Would be happy to fire up a FG session for you, Rowsdow3r to show you the ruleset and get some feedback. Drop me a PM here or on the FG forum (user name Myrddin).

I don't mean to be a thread necromancer but I would love to learn any updated information about this.

Sorry, I've been a bit overloaded at work recently. The ruleset is essentially finished. Now, I'm automating the family history tables in FG to facilitate character generation. I hope to run a playtest soon...at least character generation and the Intro adventure. If there are any existing FG users who'd like to put my ruleset through its paces that would be great. Please let me know your FG user names and I'll send you a mail through the forum.

I would very much like to try your Pendragon ruleset out on FG. My FG user name is nosavynada.

I had made an attempt over a year ago of modifying the BRP core ruleset but eventually did not have the fortitude needed to make myself re-learn on the fly html / programming needed.
From your descriptions here it sounds like you have mastered the required parts and are well into the nice to haves for this great RPG ruleset.
I would be very grateful for the opportunity to test your ruleset.

Sincerely,

Nosavynada

I presume that you mean others who have used FG

Please do not expect official KAP contributors to respond
They are all under Nondisclosure Agreements and don't have permission to share official files
All published files are available through DriveThurRPG
of course, anyone can share their personal information
good luck!

I’d like to be able to share my ruleset with you and others who might choose FG to play their Pendragon games, but I need to confirm that I am not breaching any copyright or licensing issues before I do so. I exchanged emails with Stewart on this subject last year and have sent another email to follow up.
