Apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum for this, moderators should feel free to move the topic to a better location.
I've been sporadically lurking on this forum for a while, but this is my first post. I am a long time fan of KAP and 4th edition was one of my first rpg's.
Currently I am thinking of putting together a mini-campaign for Pendragon 5.1. I have a 4th edtion campaign on hiatus (running since 2001) since moving last year, but an opportunity to play Pendragon not be missed and i will have an interested player visiting soon.
What i'm thinking is focusing on a five year period late in the GPC (Grail og Twilight period) somewhat away from the main action at Camelot and Arthur. My current idea is placing this mini-campaign in Britanny towards the end of the civil wars in France (553-558) and focusing on resistance in Britanny to the French. Themes like averting war through personal heroics, political intrigue and/or negotiations with some romance sprinkled on top appeals to the player in question.
Some quick and dirty research on the history of Brittany (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Brittany) revealed that there was resitance to the Carolingnians in the 9th century and even an alliance with Viking raiders. I was planning on using this as a backdrop to the campaign.
On top of this i have a few questions:
Is there any information in a Pendragon product about Brittany in the later periods of the campaign? I have not been able to find any, but my collection is mostly 4th ed books and i don't have many of the later 5th editions books (except the Book of Knights and Ladies and the GPC).
Is there something fan-made? I searched this forum, but maybe there is something "out there" that i have not been able to find.
Anyone else have experience using Pendragon in a mini-campaign like the one i have outlined? Any special considerations to be aware of? (As i grow older i find starting long-term campaigns, a forte of KAP, very daunting. Still i don't want to give up my favorite RPG.
Any response to any of these questions would be greatly appriciated :)
