Hello fantastic world of Arthuriana!

It is now summer which is nice, but nerdy as I am, it's a perfect time to be starting a KAP-adventure for some fellow players and myself. The idea is to transfer the "The Adventure of the Horned Boar" from The Spectre Knight supplement from its northern outset to the border between Silchester and Wessex, with saxons instead of angles (and perhaps PCs originating from the Silchester area?).

My question is: has this been done before, and if so is there any detailed maps for the Silchester/Wessex border? I mean, before the new Book of the Warlord comes out? It would really be useful for me. I have looked through my almost complete range of KAP products all through to the Book of the Estate (I have the blue version). But there's really very hard to find some more detailed maps, even if the ones existing are very nice all of them. Thanks in advance for answers. /Erik.

We don't have any yet. The evil master plan is to get all the macro stuff right so we can produce micro-maps with total scalability. That said, we've not gotten that granular yet. What kinds of details are you looking for?

Thanks for the reply Taliesin. And I really am a big fan of all your "evil master plans". :) More of that please.
Well, as you are asking so nicely, I am looking for close ups of the immediate area near the Wessex border from the Silchester direction. I'd like to position the Westgate area from the "Horned Boar" (switched to another name, lets say Woodland area from Book of the Estate?). That way the player knights can help in the border fight against the saxons (angles in the original adventure) and hopefully win with the master of Westgate (Woodland).

Have you seen the map on p. 31 of WARLORD? What specific details would you like to see that are not provided there? That map gives you political boundaries as well as Roman roads and trade roads, castles in the area, etc. What else do you need? Rivers? Forests? Villages?

Unfortunately I do not own the Book of the Warlord. There's a lot of books in my Pendragon rpg collection, but not that one. I was on the verge of buying the HB version when it was announced a new version is on underway. So I'm "patiently" waiting for it to emerge again. Until then it's out of my reach. And I can't even afford the pdf version (if it exists) as I am a student these days. Thanks for the advice though. /Erik.

It won't be long on that, we're just waiting for proofs to come back. If there are no problems, we'll post the new version.

So sorry for not replying to your answer until now! I haven't been in here for a while. Yes, good tip. And I do own Saxons. I'll have a look. Many thanks. :) Erik.

*WARNING SPOILERS!!*

Finally, my own homemade maps of the area I wanted are ready. What I've done is moved the adventure location for "The Horned Boar" from the north to the south and changed the Angles for Saxons, and also changed the era from Arthur to Uther.

Much of the details and regional place names/topographic names I invented. I am sorry if this is totally wrong. The players will not notice it anyway. Their Pendragon knowledge is not high enough (and neither are mine). The Westgate manor is now Southgate. I've also beefed up the Saxon chief a little. Other than that, the adventure is much as it was. I will show the maps in another post, in the Play Aids section.
