--What is Pendragon?--
Pendragon is a tabletop game that follows you through your character's life, his death, and then his heirs life (and so on) all through the "dark ages" in England after the fall of Rome and the rise of King Arthur. You build a family and a dynasty. It is a highly medieval game with little fantasy. You not only play a character that goes on adventures but also you manage your estate and servants, expand your family through marriage and children, and train your squire. There are some elements of superstition and fantasy that can be added but I will tend towards a more realistic game if I can and keep magic on the fringes except where the text explicitly calls for it.

--Rulebooks?--
We will utilize all 5.1 handbooks. The 5.1 Core Handbook, the Book of the Manor, the Book of Entourage, and the Book of Knights and Ladies are all recommended for players.

Players are asked not to read from reading the campaign material available in other supplements or on the web. I will change it up enough to keep it unique, but who wants to spoil the fun?

--When / Where?--
We have now been playing this campaign for a year and a half and with no end in sight. We will play on Thursdays from 12:00noon until 8:00pm. On some days we will play longer, but we will likely never play earlier. If we have to move the date, I will always try to give at least a weeks heads up.

The day may change permanently in October 2015.

We play using Roll20. In order to participate, you will need to have an account here and join our campaign:

We also use Skype:

--Who can Play?--
I tend to keep my group limits small to cut down on the headache of having to deal with scheduling conflicts. I would like to have 4-6 players.

You must have a microphone and. unless you're Allison, you must have a camera. You don't have to have your camera on all the time, but we'd like to see you during scenes where you roleplay with other characters/participants.

Interested in joining? Let us know as much as you can about yourself, your play style, and what appeals to you. We're not expecting someone who has played Pendragon before, so newbies feel free to apply.

-- FAQ --
Q: I can't make this week/I have to leave early/I have to arrive late!
A: If you can give us a week's heads up we can see if we can move the date, but this is unlikely. The Show must go on! The great news about Pendragon is that if you cannot make the session your character lives his life as normal, a year passes by, and you can step back in when you're ready. We may be able to do a brief "solo session".

Q: How long have you been DMing?
A: I was introduced to gaming when I was 9 and creating my own worlds and running them shortly after. I've played dungeons and dragons 2nd,3rd,3.5th,and 4th edition. I have played World of Darkness. I have been playing Pendragon now for about two years. I have played a number of Live Action Roleplaying Games including NERO, Vampire the Masquarade, and a host of local games. I am the founder of the LARP Avegost and ran stories for that game for 5 years:

Q: What is your philosophy behind roleplaying?
A: Within GNS theory I would consider myself a Narrativist when running the story, and as a participant a Simulationist. It doesn't relate to tabletop very much, but immersion is highly important to me in roleplaying. I love to see passion and natural behavior in roleplay rather than acting or cheese in any way. Don't be tacky, Sir Lancelot.

Q: What is your philosophy on tabletop?
A: I want to have a very serious game with a steady flow. We tend to roleplay and carry on with the plot for the majority of the session, but know how to cut up like the rest. Pendragon can have long pauses in the Winter Phase and during some challenging logistical sections and this is where we endeavor to get out out of game giggles out. I want my participants to have as much fun as possible, but selfishly I put my goals for the story first. I want there to be drama between characters and npcs alike and I want there to be a feeling that the overarching story is more important than the individual. Death can be very sudden and common in Pendragon and I find this aspect to be the most refreshing since it forces players to participate in different and sometimes unexpected roles. I enjoy challenging my participants to act and behave and roleplay passionately.

Q: How long does it take to make a character?
A: Your individual character and his story can take 1-2 hours. Additionally, you'll have some homework since a huge part of the story is the drama and story of your family; you will need to make a family tree using familyecho for this purpose;

I might be willing/able to join though given how my work normally doesn't end until 3:00/4:00pm Eastern Standard Time that may not be possible... what timezone are you? I admit that being available for 8 hours may be a bit much, but I need someplace to start. If you feel it wont work, I would understand as I have my doubts too.

Also, I am completely new to Pendragon as such I will have some reading/learning to do.
