Hi,
I was thinking of writing up a little battle speech to gee up the players for the final battle of the Uther Period.
Has someone done anything similar (that I could steal or borrow a bit off)?
Cheers,

Get a copy of Geoffrey of Monmouth!
Or shakespeare.
I saved the "Through the breach" and the "more glory if we win and fewer losses if we lose" speeches for king arthur

DUDE......... Henry the 5th.......... hello my man!!!!!!!!! ;) St crispins day etc..... Arthur is outnumbered and at a total disadvabtage so this speech works well. Kenneth Braunnagh in the movie Henry the 5th does it best, Just play it and tell ur players that its arthur man!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway.... That isthe best War speech ever..... Steve

Dude yourself, RTOP. BigSteveUK is asking about St Albans in 495, not Badon in 518. St Albans is nowhere near as do or die as Badon.
Having said that, Shakespeare is the go-to guy for this sort of thing. In addition to the stuff already mentioned, Henry VI pt3 has a bunch of speeches that might be appropriate for Octa and/or Eossa before they go to the headsman's block - the play is basically a series of 'final words' as various noblemen (Rutland, York, Clifford, Warwick, the Prince of Wales, Henry VI) are captured and then murdered by their enemies.
There's also some good stuff in the aftermath of the battle of Towton from various 'everyman' characters lamenting the miseries of war. Towton will be my model for Camlann if I ever get there IMG. It is estimated that 1% of England's population were killed; once you account for women, children and the aged, you're looking at about 1 in every 20 Englishmen of military age dying as a result of that one battle.

Cheers for the feedback, what do you think of this:-
Uther?s Speech
As the imminent time of Battle Approaches, Uther rides along the line, strapped into his horse, his face ill and grey. You here the men near you mutter unhappily and you can tell they are anxious and worried. Suddenly the old king stops and then on this dark and gloomy day, a glimmer of hope starts emerge, as he draws Excalibur. The old kings posture starts to change and becomes more sure and confident, his infirmness beings to fade and you start think the Old King may still take this day.
Sons of Logres, knights of Briton, my brothers!
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of Briton fails
When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship
But it is not this day
An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Briton comes crashing down
But it is not this day!
This day we fight!
By all that you hold dear on this good earth
I bid you stand, Men of the Logres!
Charge!!!!
It?s not plagiarism its just reinterpretation ;D

Don't they call it reimagining it these days? (Like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica....)

It's Aragorn's speech from in front of the Black Gates of Mordor in the Return of the King movie. I'd say it would work very well - but if your players recognise it, it might negatively impact upon their suspension of disbelief.
