Finishing this is consuming my life.

I sent the text off to be edited. What a relief! A couple of weeks off from it.
Whew, I had a rush of elation as I felt the burden shift off of me. I usually have a couple of days of confusion--what am I supposed to be doing?

It came back nicely edited.
I read it. *groan*
I saw several gaps, several bits of bad organization (Reserves in four places?), and some parts I had omitted (What! No eschielle mentioned!! :o )
Oh, and I hadn't made the table for all the Terrain Effects to be in one place.

So, I have sacrificed my everyday life to finish the text.
It is currently 60+ pages long.

I am preparing an announcement for this, and for BoA for my site.

Pendragon Book of Battle has been sent to the editor for the final time, and ought to be back to me in a couple of days.

It will then be sent to layout, although I can not estimate how long that will take.
But it's moving along!

I have received an electronic copy of Book of Battle.
Now I, and some others, will scrutinize the text, and DZ will correct the text to be final.

I will be out of town, distracted, so this will take a couple of weeks.

The first draft layout of Book of Battle has been sent back to be corrected.
We have a couple of design issues to work out, which are simple.
David has outdone himself for the art.

More as it happens.

IF a good and kind person with 35 years of experience would NEVER get the draft layout and make wholesale changes, as well as additions to the game; then I am not a good person. Fortunately, David is, and he'll get this done, but it will take a bit more time.
But this will be much better organized and presented.

It's huge--possibly coming in at 96 pages.
Its amazingly complete, says I. :)

How much more time? Price?
I don't know.

More as it happens.

Dec 8 today.

:( Alas, the books are a little late (part of the price to live out here)

They will be a couple of days late, but will go out quickly once they hit my door.

Sorry. :(

Today is Tuesday, Dec 15 2009.

The layout has had its delay (mea culpa).
The printer has had his, twice (once in printing late, once in shipping later than promised)

I am told that the books will arrive here tomorrow.
Let us see if UPS is any better at their word.

I will have them out in two days, with all current European orders sent first if it takes two days.
Then we can see if the USPS (and your friendly local post, if outside the US) is good for their word in this busy, mailing season.

I apologize for these delays, beg everyone's patience, and ask you watch here for further news.

They were. The books arrived late yesterday.

It is gorgeous, the rules still seem clear, the index is great. I am really proud of this.
Special thanks to David Zeeman, who did the layout under great pressure while stressed by the rest of his life.
thank you man.

Just about all the non-US orders went out of my door about ten minutes ago. The rest of them will go tomorrow, and probably most of the US orders too.
