In my new campaign, one of the knights has a holding along the Bourne River. He wants to have a passion of Hate (Silchester knights) - which I think is understandable, given that they're more likely to raid than Saxons or Picts.

Still, he has to muster with them, might have to travel through their territory, etc. How would you adjudicate this? Does the Passion activate any time he comes near them? Can he make a Prudent roll to put off expressing it?

What is the value of the Hate? 16+ would make it difficult for him to keep it under wraps while something less than that I would expect him to be able to control. 16+ and I'd expect insulting comments leading to duels, not necessarily raiding. And if he sees Silchester knights in trouble, he'd likely look the other way.

We haven't chosen a value yet. But below 16 sounds better, for now.

I suppose I could make it a simpler Hate (Levcomagus), which would make it easier to interact with Silchester knights in general.

Thanks!
