Hear ye, hear ye, friends and Romans, countrymen.
Hear ye, hear ye, punks and skins and journeymen
Hear ye, hear ye, my sisters and my brethren.
The time is coming near.

I am drunk and feeling like fiddling with the keyboard. That's another way of saying I am feeling 'typey'. Here goes my song:

I was incredibly engaged in RPG's in my youth. Like, way too much. Then I got into sex and drugs and rock and roll. Like, way too much. At 46 years old, I'm finally pulling the Pendragon card. Of all the RPG's I played, this is the one I thought I might care about the most. There's a reason, that of all the RPG rulebooks I ever owned, but never played, I held onto my 1980 Chaosium edition of Pendragon regardless of numerous cullings of my book collections.

More than a quarter century has passed since I bought this book. I am very happy to tell you all that I am finally USING it.

My current roommate is very enthusiastic about the setting, and totally new to Pencil/Paper RPG... I pitched the idea to him that I'd be willing to run it as a 1v1, but that I wanted FEEDBACK on our sessions. He's been a great sounding board, him letting me screw up as GM and me letting him screw up as player... we've taken time after each session to talk about what went right or went wrong.

We are three sessions deep and feel we're ready to invite some more players in (there are several interested, I just didn't want to allow them in until I felt I could handle it), but I think we are there...

My solo player is already enmeshed with several problems that he is trying to solve:

- He wants very badly to be sent to the frontlines against the Saxons, but he's been charged with solving the bandit problem in Salisbury first
- I decided that helping recover Excalibur was too glorious a task for a new knight, I (solved?) this by making it much more mysterious and ensorceling the paricipants that whatever they spoke of the Adventure of the Lake in 486 came out of their mouths like 'we saved a goat'. However, when Merlin appeared in court with Excalibur, my solo player scored a CRITICAL SUCCESS on his Courtesy roll! When approaching Merlin. I couldn't make that up. It was duly noted by all those in attendance that Merlin whispered into the young knight's ear.... what did he say? Only me and my PK know that :)
- His good friend Sir Bar is seeking the attention of a certain lady, one of Lady Ellen's entourage. My solo player PK has already arranged a meeting. They are set to meet again next spring for a party.

Will Sir Leomie be able to assist his friend in securing the attention of his lady love? Will Sir Leomie ever break the enchantment that prevents him and his friends from describing their strange adventure? Will Sir Leomie prove to his Lord Sir Roderick of Salisbury that he deserves a better assignment than patrolling for bandits in the back country? WHAT DID MERLIN WHISPER TO SIR LEOMIE DURING THEIR ENCOUNTER AT COURT?!?!?!?

I will look much forward to sharing our further tweaks on this adventure.

PS: I really want to thank whoever it was that put that podcast out, it is really an inspiration! I am TOTALLY LISTENING.
