Sorry if this was already asked in earlier threads, but there's a provision for married females who are not wives of PKs to give birth, but what about the PK's wives? Do we still use the table 5.1 in the core rulebook (in my case, KAP 5.2, page 131)?

Officially, yes, since it has not been corrected yet, even though everyone agrees that it is horribly broken.

Unofficially:

1) Quick Fix 1: Make 11 = No children. This lowers the mortality of women by 50%, which is already a huge benefit. if you want to tweak it even more, give the women 50% chance of survival in result 12. This gives you almost the same results as the BotE one.

2) Quick Fix 2: Just use the BotE table for PKs' wives, too, and give twins on a 20.

I use the Estate table for all women who have sex on a regular basis. One-night stands use Folklore.

For female PCs I treat 'died in childbirth' as a wound. Roll CON, succeed and its Major, Fail and its Mortal. Die on a Fumble, Chirurgery Needed but no stat loss on a Crit.

I'd never kill a PC woman due to a childbirth roll. Major wound is enough, IMHO.

So you use Folklore to represent contraception efforts? And then if that fails send to the Estate table to see if it goes to term? Or is it Folklore fail = birth?

I'm mindful that the Estate table incorporates the chance of miscarriage, not just conception.
