My Angle PCs are just about to storm into Caercolun (Anglia) and chase out the Iceni. The time will come, many years in the future, when the Britons will retake Anglia and Duke Hervis de Revil will be lord.
I'd like to introduce Hervis de Revil now as an NPC, who the PCs will know as a foe and will in future know as an oppressor. Is there much written about Hervis in the Pendragon library? The only description I have found of him and his life is in Blood and Lust where he is described as starting out as a landless adventurer.

Hervis de Revel is mentioned in Malory in a couple of obscure instances, and was selected for no particular reason to fill a role in my campaign, which has subsequently become permanent in GPC.
He is also the carrier of a methodology that I have used in publishing RPGs for 35 years: the unstated background. I do not believe I have ever flatly stated the life of Hervis, but have left it to GMs to work out for themselves. Some people complain that this is a weakness in my work--a flaw that leaves GMs hanging and sets them up for embarrassment later when they finally figure something out. Many of them then triumphantly crow about their discoveries, revealing the "secret" with a delight that confirms me in my methodology. Of course, this is far more prevalent (and obvious) in my Glorantha work, but Hervis is an example from KAP.
I will now fall silent on this gentleman, and hope that the revelations of others will answer your query.

That's the answer I wanted really. I've been plotting out a role for Hervis in my campaign and I was just worried that he may pop up in the main time line somewhere I wasn't aware of.

I'm just about to introduce Hervis as a name character in my game. Actually, in my mind he has already appeared as a young page who was beneath the notice of the PC knights when they were guesting with friends amongst the Iceni a few years back; but now he is a knight in his own right and he will be calling upon the oldest (and most glorious) PC when he comes to Lindsey next year with tidings of his old friends and the Duchess of Lindsey's foster relatives.
The way I intend to use him is to showcase him as an energetic and personable young nobleman making his start as a junior member of the Icenic ducal household, then take it all away from him when the Anglish invade a year later. He'll be a recurrent NPC all through the remainder of the anarchy - a living example of the way that the anarchy and the saxon encroachments embitter and coarsen many promising Cymric knights.

In our campaign my knight brandegoris putup lots of Libra to get a force to raid anglia.Hervis was first on my list of recruitment.he was smart but seemed to become undone by hatred too easily where saxons were concerned, and often acted too rashly. I gave him some knight and men-at-arms to take and plunder in south Anglia and he was supposed to come back in two days. He overextended himself and got captured. I looked for him for a week but we had to flee with our goods or be overtaken by ORHGANIZED resistance. I kept his share of the loot and later when i discovered he had escaped and come to court I was so excited and came looking for him to give him his share if the libra for that years raiding.....18Libra!!!! As ge was a commander after all. He took the loot but cursed me , saying I abandoned him!!!!! He had been tortured by the saxons and they had cut off his sword hand!!!! He hated ne ever since and believe me.....the day came when I regretted having him for an enemy!!!!!!!!!!!! :o
