Hello everyone!

So Lancelot and Mordred are travelling together to a Grand Tourney (whose name I forget), when they meet a monk who curses Mordred, saying that Mordred will destroy Camelot. Mordred kills the priest, and gets Lancelot to swear to keep what he has heard and seen a secret. Later, at the tourney, Mordred fights like a mad man, almost as if he were trying to get killed.

To help place the event within the GPC, it event takes place a year or three after the visit of King Today from the Kingdom of Overthere.

Does anyone know where and in which book this happens?

Thanks to anyone who can tell me *where* and in what book/story, whether Le Morte du Arthur or a different source, this event lives.

It is in Vulgate Cycle, but I have not been able to find an online text to track down the chapter and verse yet.

Edit: Chapter 167 of Lancelot-Grail (AKA Vulgate Cycle).

Morien - YOU ROCK!! Thank you very much.

My players keep saying that Mordred seems like such a nice guy, what triggers him going over the deep end. So, I've decided to let them be present at the big reveal, and then see what they do to try and "save" Mordred.

Previously one of the PKs stopped Balin from killing Nimue, barely surviving the blow that would have killed her. Balin still ran off and the rest happened, but my players have a tendency to monkey wrench canon. We shall see what happens.

Thanks again for the info!
