There is an event which can occur in which a PC’s child is swapped for a changing by the Fae. If recovered, the child is assigned certain skills and an APP of 18. Assuming this ended up as a playable character, are the “required” skills/stat considered an”bonus” (above the starting point allocation) or do these rankings come as a mandatory part of character creation (effectively sacrificing other skills). Thanks for any thoughts!

Where did you get APP 18? I don't see it anywhere.

As for the Faerie Lore, you could play it either way, IMHO. Logically, the time spent in Faerie, learning Faerie ways and customs, would come at the expense of other skills. On the other hand, some GMs may feel that it is right to reward the player for recovering their character's son. Personally, I think that it should come at the expense of other skills, and that the skill gain should depend on the time it takes to rescue the baby (remember the faster maturation): year or less in Faerie = no skill, 2 years = 5, 3 years = 10, 4+ years = 15.

Not sure where I got the APP thing - it was 1 am when I posted so it’s likely my brain just made it up! Thanks for the info - much appreciated

Well it's a reasonable extrapolation (Seelie like pretty things, no?), but you could apply the same constraints as for skills: APP is increased and that means it's the first stat allocated or receives points first to bring it up to Faerie-snuff, so to speak.

Alternatively, they could be super-ugly....
