We are about to start a campaign set in Cameliard, and have a couple of questions regarding the Round Table.
"Leodegrance gave the Round Table, which seats 150 men, to King Arthur as part of Guenever’s dowry. He also gave a hundred knights of quality to fill most of it, leaving Arthur to choose the other fifty." (GPC, p. 147).
According to Savage Mountains, the Kingdom of Cameliard has 100 knights. Does that mean that, in 514, all of Leodegrance's knights are knights of the round table. If not, where did the 100 knights supplied by Leodegrance come from?
Also, why did Uther give the table to Leodegrance, and when?

I had Uther give it to Leodegrance as payment for aid against the Duke of Cornwall. While other kings got Cornwall's daughters, I said Leodegrance got "some furniture".

I said that it had always been in Leodagrances possesion. As a roman relic left at Stafford. Uther " Gave" it to Leodegrance. What that meant in my game is that when Uther became High King he allowed Leodegrance to keep it instead of demanding it for himself after Leodegrance offered it to Uther upon his " Coronation".

Hello
I think the hundred knights of Cameliard are bachelors knights. Before Arthur's wedding, Leodagrance have more 100 Round Table's knights !
Legends say not precisely why this king have this table ! Uther doesn't give this table to Leodagrance. When he died, many Round Table's knights seem travel to Leodagrance to help him against king Rions. In this period, never Leodagrance give a seat to a knight because he's not really the King of this Table...
We can imagine Leodagrance was the most wisdom king after Uther's death and try to save the realm and to resist against "Saisnes, Irois" and "Païens". For this reason, knights of Round Table join him... and many Round Table's knight seem natives from Cameliard !
The roman of Perlesvaus say a pagan king claim property of Round Table because he was engage with Guenever before her wedding. We can imagine that Leodagrance think Uther has no heirs and finally want give this Table like daughter's dot.
But when Leodagrance "give" the Round Table like Guenever's dot to Arthur, it's really a restitution !
I work on the list of Round Table's knights in this time (between Arthur's wedding and Battle of Humber 514-517 AD, GPC chronology)... If you want I can post my work...
Sorry for my english, I'm French
Bye,
