Pendragon 5th has a list of fortifications you can build for a manor. The book of the manor suggests that the price of fortifications be increased by x5, but in reference to the Noble's Book (a 1st ed supplement) - should this also apply to the ones in the 5th ed core?
Also, how much DV does each of the entries in the core book give, and what's the annual maintenance and glory gained? Initially, I assumed that the standard motte and bailey from the core would give 5/3, but the description of a 5/3 motte & bailey from the GPC ("The 5 represents the ditch and palisade, and the 3 is the stone tower atop a hillock.") sounds more like the "Stone tower, with motte and palisade £75" from the core than 'just' a bog standard motte and bailey.
For reference, here's the list from the 5th ed core:
Castle Construction
*Ditch and rampart £1
Motte-and-bailey £25
Motte-and-bailey, reinforced £95
Shell keep with bailey £45
Stockade £6
*Stone tower £10
Stone tower, with motte and palisade £75
In the book of the manor, the * are at x5 the cost, which suggests to me that this should be applied to everything on the list. But that doesn't help work out what the DV bonus should be, or the glory, or maintenance (I'm far more interested in the DV bonus, as I don't intend to use the complicated BotM system).
Many thanks in advance - having never run a siege, I'm not sure what kind of DV bonuses are appropriate to hand out for the different levels of expenditure.
