Are there racial attribute maximums for races other than Cymric? I know that Cymric characters are restricted to 18 in everything except CON (21) and that the errata for BoK&L states there is no table for racial maximums, so is it safe to assume that the maximums are whatever the maximum 3D6 roll + relevant modifer is? I'm asking because I have just generated a Saxon npc whose modified SIZ and STR is 20. This gives him a damage modifier of 7d6 (20+20/6, rounded up from 6.6)

Strike the sentence, “Only two restrictions apply to this increase: No character may increase his attributes beyond their racial maximum, and no character past the age of 21 can increase his SIZ stat.”
In BoK&L, racial maximums are eliminated.

Does that mean there no racial maximums or that they are all 18?
As I understood it, racial maximums are 18 plus or minus any racial modifiers. So if there are racial modifiers of +3 str, -3 dex, +3 app. The maximums would be str 21, dex 15, app 21, and size and con would remain (the usual) maximums of 18.
However if there are no racial maximums it would seem you could have a cyrmic knight with a size of 21, a con of 24, etc. Is that correct?

I should stress I'm talking only about character generation here.
The 1000 glory bonus point allows any character to raise their stats beyond the usual restrictions.

[racial maximums, there are none

Yep. I have decided so. These giants among their peers, these freaks of nature, have their mini max place in the otherwise randomized world of averages and means, medians and modes.
I think that the game system will handle it, and that GMs will deal with it according to their maturity.

The way I play it, if they have the glory then they can get the stats - that guy would need a minimum of 6k glory to put those stats together, so if he's happy to slight his 20+ skills/passions then sure, he can be the 'Mountain That Rides'...

I was thinking of this primarily in terms of character generation.... Wow, this will change things. I am very much looking forward to a future knight with a size of 24... Now the real question is when do you become too heavy for a horse, and, do you really need a horse at size 24?

Giants in the Alliterative Morte Arthure rode camels . . .
(Jewish giants from Genoa, of course--an unlikely combination)

See now, that's just silly. Everyone knows Jewish giants only come from Narbonesis in Pendragon.

But "Narbonesis" doesn't alliterate with "giant"!
