With 4th, 5th edition and GPC in hand, too many variants on Jousting resolution during tournaments.
Are there any plans for a 'Book of Tourney'?
Some of my new players got really greedy looks in their eyes when they heard of the existence of tournaments with wagers (horse, armor, ransom). Did anyone make a random Joust opponent generator during a Tourney. The one from 'At the crossroad'-solo doesnt work, because better opponents should be come available in later rounds, and there should be variation in their wealth-level (not necessaryly bound to their skill level). The 5th edition 'Battle vs Knights' Table is a good start, but no 'superlative' knights appear in that table.
Also the 'default' knight opponents (young, notable, famous etc) have much lower lance skills than sword skills, which I except to be reversed for professional tournament-knights (such as my players).
Any ideas?

Hello Thijs and All,
We use the three passes then ground combat for all jousts, so if a player is a little weak on Lance, they usually defend, for the +10 skill, and then wait for ground combat. You might try this for the NPCs that you are using if your PCs have really good lance scores. Best of luck.

I understand the tactic, but sounds to much like cheating and because of this, in my campaign, most tournaments never revert to ground combat during joust (afterall ground combat is for challenges and melee).

Yes. I am testing the procedures now (pity my players!). There are some pretty radical changes to the old system.

Good! They should. It's a great way to make money and get Glory, if they win.
Did anyone make a random Joust opponent generator during a Tourney.
I currently use the "All-Knight Army" from the Book of Armies.
I plan to post that particular table on my site, at some point when I have some time and focus for it.
It will be in general circulation soon, anyway.

When can we expect this book of Tourney? :)
Can you give a hint of what kind of changes we are looking at?

Is that much different from the "All-Knight Army" army-list from 5th edition?

How do I determine what the wager is at a tournament..?
Last game I just rolled a D6
1-2 Love
3 Horse
4 Armor
5 Horse+Armor
6 Ransom
Is that a reasonable distribution or are much more tournaments for love only (year 531)..

Let's see how many of Battles and Armies we sell.
Can you give a hint of what kind of changes we are looking at?
The biggest one is to treat the melee as a group activity.
