My campaign has just played through the Battle of Terrabil - the player knights saw Madoc cut down by Gorlois, killed the duke and helped to lead the charge into the castle itself.
I'd like to make the funeral and wedding into significant social events for the players, but I'm struggling a little for inspiration. What kind of social events/interactions have other GMs used for these kind of events? So far, I'm thinking that Uther will reward them for avenging his son (what kind of gift would be appropriate though?*) and that some vengeful Cornish knights may challenge them for killing their liege (or even directly go raiding their home manors, but that doesn't help to make the funeral/wedding more interesting).
* The knights have all married well, to various wealthy heiresses in Salisbury and are generally pretty rich, so I'm reluctant to just give them even *more* cash. Plus, something more personal would be more interesting.
