So as we all know from Mr. Stafford's post in the word from Camelot white wolf is steadfastly clinging to the rights to KAP 5 and the GPC. I started a thread on their forums to protest this, nicely please. I know some of their employees read and post there so maybe someone will listen, however unlikely. If you'd like to sound off on the thread, go to white wolf's forums page, then look under general discussion and announcements, look for a thread named "White wolf please listen...?" Feel free to participate. ;D

I've signed up under your thread for that. It's a noble sentiment but I don't think that WW will listen to it, more's the pity.
As Greg has written, his friend Stuart Weick of WW gave him the opportunity of creating KAP5 and the GPC so WW can't be all evil ;)
Even if there is the smallest chance that someone will listen, it's worth trying. Here's hoping WW will sit up and take notice.
I think part of the problem is that White Wolf has gone from being a small-ish gaming company to a large-ish company of which RPGs are only a relatively small part. Don't they run online games, like EVE now?

White Wolf merged with CCP, the makers of EVE, a while back. CCP is a Icelandic company and probably felt the economic recession quite hard, even though most of their income is in dollars. How hard it hit is anyones guess, but at the time White Wolf cut severely back on all publishing. And especially on all non-core lines, meaning everything not World of Darkness or Exalted. ArtHaus, which is the part of WW that has control of KAP, has almost stopped publishing altogether.
The merger made them a larger company, with broader focus. My guess is that the recession forced them to speed up the process of looking at their costs, and now have to justify more the things they put their effort into. So they are focusing more on core business, they do limited run lines, are looking more into pdf-publishing and other ways to publish. I think they'll probably increase activity once they have made the changes they want to make (like revamping their web site, which is fairly dated). If that activity will translate into effort put into lines like KAP will remain to be seen, but I hope that KAP will gain at least some support.
Even if they don't support the line I don't see them parting with the license as they now have many other ways to exploit the property. Being part of a company with great resources within computer software brings a lot of possibilities.
