Hi all,
as expected the rivalry with the steward of Levcomagus has picked up in my new campaign..
Has anyone ever done a blazon for him? What's his name in 531, how large is his family (we know his brothers are dead), how many knights does he order around?
The city of Levcomagus is unwalled and has no castle, does that mean the steward lives in the (fortified) city hall?
How much plunder can you get for raiding the city of Levcomagus (in 531)?
How much plunder can you get for a lightning raid (just drive in with 10 knights on horseback)?
[In my previous campaign I added a castle to the city to resolve these issues].

I am fearing my players to summon their family knights (~30 knights), and convince the earl to support an invasion of Levcomagus.
And if not an invasion then just a lightning raid to have the element of surprise.
Likely the Duke of Silchester will intervene (and delayed also Arthur), but the players might come up with a good Casus Belli and get away with it.

I haven't done a blazon but I have created many others using this, which you may find helpful.

I can't se the Earl supporting an attack on Levcomagus, because that is an attack against the Duke of Silchester. At least not without a political campaign or series of events that causes relations to break down between the Earl and Levcomagus, and also Salisbury and Silchester, and/or Levcomagus and Silchester. That could be fun, and could go oh so wrong.

I use the same for my other blazons, just wondering if there was official Levcomagus blazon...

What happened is that my players screwed up the Stygian Stallion adventure, and during the adventure I was already dropping clues it might be Levcomagus who masterminded it all. (and add some Levcomagus bandits/scouts from earlier adventure).
So I might let those stolen horses show up at Levcomagus and I am sure my players will want to violently rescue those horses (aka raid). My guess is that the Earl will just look the other way and let the PCs raid, if they rescue the horses and proof Levcomagus a thief, all the glory, and if they fail, he can claim ignorance and punish the knights..
[After playing The Witcher PC-game I became such a nasty GM]..

Yep, that's exactly the tack I would take too :)
I'd also consider: If the players have enemies in the Earl's court, they might manoeuvre to make sure the incident is brought to the Earl, so he can't ignore it. Politics are fun!
