So I started a new game before the christmas break and we are about to start it up again. Its still 485 and my players are about to go off to the battle of Mearcred Creek from the GPC. This is one of the only canon battles from the GPC with out special notes in either the BoB or the BoA, so I was wondering if I should just use it mostly as is in the GPC and filter its rules through the BoB or if this was an accidentall omission and you do actually recommend a specific army table or battle condition. Also in said battle it lists the battle as medium with Uther leading contrary to the typical leaders listed for that size in the BoB, so should I give glory based on a medium battle (the size) or the presence of the high king (large battle)? ???

Dang, that's an "oops"

I will construct and post a "GPC Battles, Uther Period" on my site.

Use the Saxons, but see below.

It's the first battle, give them as much as possible.

but to handle your immediate need:

Insert this on BoA, p 12
Battle of Mearcred Creek
Prepare this battle ahead of time, with all die rolls and movements jotted down by the gamemaster to walk, with the players, step by step through the battle. Take time, check the rules, use all the basic maneuvers. Sir Elad is the Unit Commander.
